Lush green, aqua marine water, mountains, ducks quacking..... so beautiful & pretty.
One can sit for hours just gazing the lake & enjoy nature’s beauty.
Ice cream trucks, small restaurant & food joints made it all complete.
Loved the beautiful countryside.

Access to this place is very restricted at the moment. There are some scheduled tours/virtual experiences, but it's currently undergoing major refurbishment and development which is due to finish sometime in 2020. So for the 2019 season, I'd suggest you don't assume you'll be able to visit, but plan ahead and contact the venue for tour times.

We tried to visit just after it was closed for several months refurbishment. However we were able to go to the library which is not normally open to the public for a talk an videos of Dove Cottage. This was well done and interesting so our time was not wasted .

I visited here in 1987 while driving a gentleman from Israel . The smells and energy are typical of this little village that transports you back in time with it's real English antiques and furnishings . I never knew a place like this ever existed here .I would love to go back again and again . What I especially fell in love with are the thick stone walls with a off white vintage aging paint on the cottage walls that are over a foot thick that transports you back in time again .There was another building Like this that I found while I was on my Scotland , England self driving trip which was a little restaurant high up on the hill in the fjords of Scotland called , " Ye old Mill house " restaurant with original poles supporting the ceilings and over a foot thick walls with leaded glass windows . The mill water wheel is gone now but you can imagine where it was . It was on the other side of the kitchen wall . That's what England and Scotland are like to travel to . It's a very relaxing place to travel through .I was trying to think of the area of Scotland , it's called the Scottish highlands . And the Lake District of England goes with this area of accient history . The English villages are a pleasant escape for you to visit . Plus visit the village of William Shakespeare too . Bye now .

With Dove Cottage undergoing extensive works we were treated to the "temporary" audio - visual in the museum. In actual fact, whilst a number of improvements can be made, the audio - visual was very informative and probably gave us a wider / better insight into the Wordsworths than we might otherwise have appreciated
