Stayed for 2 nights on 12th and 13th Febuary with SWMBO and the dog Beau. Brilliantly run hotel with very pleasant staff who made us all feel very welcome. Had the dinner on both evenings of our two night stay and it was amazing!
Good value for money, great location, very comfortable rooms and most importantly we enjoyed our stay.

We've stayed in several Grasmere hotels over the years but this was by far the best... Rob and Anton know their market. We arrived a bit early hoping only to park the car and head for a walk but were welcomed with coffee and cake while our room was prepared. We stayed in the Coleridge room for 2 nights...tastefully decorated and furnished, spacious and a large en-suite with a view to the front of the hotel over the parking area to the snow topped Helm Crag. Public areas were equally comfortable with a cracking log fire to relax by. We thought about booking dinner one night and venturing out on the other but were glad we opted to dine here both nights....dinner was simply superb on all levels - presentation, quality, setting, service all done with flair. Rob is a genial front of house operator as are the the two ladies who assisted at breakfast (and at other times.....sorry we didn't catch your names). Even the background music hit the right note ( I'll have to download Eartha Kitt singing My Heart Belongs to Daddy!). This is how it should be done. We'll be back in the autumn. Many thanks to all at the Grasmere Hotel.

Room Tip: If the rooms are all of the standard of the Coleridge ( which I'm sure they will be) you won't be disappointed....and make sure to book dinner.

Four of us have just enjoyed the best of Lake District hospitality at the Grasmere Hotel. This recently-refurbished hotel offers tastefully decorated and equipped rooms, super bathrooms, comfortable beds, and log fires in the guest lounge. The food is both delicious and imaginative, served by courteous and friendly staff. Nothing is too much trouble for Rob and his team. We enjoyed every minute, from complimentary tea and biscuits on arrival, to a splendid Cumbrian breakfast before departure. We will undoubtably return.

We stayed at The Grasmere Hotel for two nights and have returned home pampered, relaxed and rested. We stayed in the Beatrix room which is spacious, very well-equipped and has a lovely large bathroom. The hotel is ideally situated: just outside the centre of Grasmere (two minute walk) so it's not on a main thoroughfare, and opposite a well-served bus stop. It also has a beautiful garden with a perfect view of the hills. Every single member of staff combines real professionalism with a friendly welcome. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner for both days and were hugely impressed with both. We highly recommend The Grasmere for anyone who wants. . . well, actually for anyone at all.

Room Tip: Beatrix was beautiful.

Fantastic find, just had the most exceptional weekend at this wonderful hotel. every aspect of our stay was perfect, we were welcomed on arrival by rob and made to feel at home, we were shown to our rooms- the wordsworth and coldridge, both rooms were to the highest standard after being recently refurbished and were excellent and very comfortable. The dinning area and lounge were both very relaxing, on arrival we were served coffee and biscuits by john who looked after us all weekend and nothing was of any trouble, to the waitresses in the morning who gave us the same level of service all weekend. We had bed and breakfast and the evening meal on the Saturday and the food was excellent, best food we have eaten in any hotel, and a special thank you for the birthday cake I was presented with on the Saturday night with our coffees later in the lounge, I would certainly visit here again and hopefully soon.
