“What a night!”
Reviewed 2 March 2014

We stayed at the Grasmere during the half term break for one night, it was a birthday present for my wife. We have to say that the whole experience was wonderful, from parking the car whilst walking on day one to the wonderful breakfast on day two.
The staff were friendly and very helpful, the room was well decorated and very comfortable. I lay on the bed just after arriving and just dropped off to sleep in seconds,it was that comfortable!
Dinner was a real treat, a touch of class and quality all done calmly and casually, the attention to detail is marvellous.
A perfect night's sleep followed by a great breakfast that set us up for the rest of the day, as it should.
We were last in to both dinner and breakfast and there was no pressure to leave, we were just left to eat at our own pace.
The Grasmere is how it should be and for the money we paid represents magnificent value for money. Our only disappointment is we are struggling to get booked in again soon as it's so full!
Keep up the good work and thank you!

Great break. Really has all been said before but this a lovely place for a well earned break. Very relaxing, lovely lounge, well appointed bedrooms and excellent food- the evening meal is fantastic value especially for residents and the breakfast is beautifully presented and cooked. A special mention or the staff/ owners who really make this hotel.

Providing attentive, friendly but unobtrusive service is a difficult balancing act and increasingly unusual but is certainly achieved here and creates a lovely ambience.

Our first visit but will definitely be back. Many of the guests appeared to be repeat customers. Success does of course breed its own issues and looking on the website the hotel is largely booked for the next few months so either suggest booking well ahead or perhaps phoning on spec to check for late cancellations.

Thanks again!

The Grasmere Hotel is fantastic. We chose to go after a friend recommended it. She was totally right! We had 2 nights dinner, bed and breakfast. Our room was looking over the gardens and was exactly like the photo on the web. It was spotless with a lovely bathroom! The food was delicious and so thoughtfully served. I had informed them of a dietary requirement before I arrived and they catered for it perfectly. It was so lovely to feel special and spoiled!
In our busy lives we do not often have time to get away and this is the perfect place for your break. Go book it now! I promise it, and you, are worth it!!

This is a review by my parents who stayed at the hotel - Recieved vouchers as a Christmas present which was a really unique idea. Could not fault this place one bit, staff were so friendly and helpful and the food is to die for! The rooms and general feel of the hotel is comfortable and relaxed. The hotel and area is highly reccomended.

A group of 4 adults have just spent 2 nights at this lovely hotel. This is the first time we have stayed in Grasmere and at this hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed the place and was very impressed with the hotel. The rooms were lovely, warm and clean. Showers were fantastic. The staff were lovely and very helpful. There was a really good choice at breakfast that catered for every appetite. We ate in the hotel on the Saturday night and it was excellent. The food, wine and atmosphere was very good. We will be definitely be booking this hotel again in the near future. The owner was very friendly and knew the local area very well. Grasmere village is very pretty and we enjoyed a 4+ hour walk in the surrounding area. Definitely recommend this hotel and Grasmere.

Room Tip: We had a room on the ground floor and it was cosy and very quiet. Our friends had a room on the top...

We chose the hotel for our wedding anniversary break based on the Trip Advisor reviews and we were not disappointed. Everything about the hotel was perfect, from the welcome by Rob, one of the owners, with the offer of tea/coffee and cake in the cosy lounge with its log fire to the superb evening meals in the dining room overlooking the garden. The staff were friendly and attentive and our room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. All in all, a very relaxing break where the attention to detail made the difference and we will return in the future.

We were very pleasantly surprised with just how enjoyable our stay at the Grasmere Hotel was. The hotel is very nice, all freshly refurbished, with very comfortable, clean and luxurious rooms. The lounge with its log fires was great too. The food in the restaurant was very high quality and the price for everything was very reasonable. Great value for money. Finally, the staff were fantastic, very helpful and friendly, but gave you space when you wanted it.
