This quaint 3 star hotel sits in the lovely village of Grasmere. The room was a good size, clean, central heated, and a comfortable bed..all a tired traveller could ask for. It has 2 lounges and a small well stocked bar. We had a dinner, bed and breakfast option....very good value. The level of food, and options for dinner were excellent, as was an extensive wine list. My wife had a wonderful cheese soufle for starter, I had wood fired pigeon....superb. For mains my wife had duck breast....one piece a bit too rare, the other a bit overdone. My veal with watercress, miniature vegetables and gnocchi was to die for. Breakfast was the standard British affair....wonderful Cumberland sausage included.....unfortunately all a little cold...hot plates would solve the problem. All in very good, would definitely return, if only for thr dinner!
