“Expensive”
Reviewed 18 August 2013

This was my second visit to Heidi's and it seems that they have really pushed their prices up even by Lake District standards. The chicken club sandwich was just about OK but the turkey salad was a bit of a joke. A few slices of processed meat, a pale looking baguette and hardly any salad. It's a shame because this place promises a lot with nice decor but needs to rethink its offer. It looks like other reviewers agree.

probably the most expensive latte in the world. Very welcoming and friendly staff making up for the embarrassment of the pricing structure. With the competition around I am amazed they stay in business...Is it because its Grasmere?

“A Fine Welcome”
Reviewed 23 July 2013

Having been caught in a severe thunder and lightning storm I arrived wet and bedraggled in Grasmere at 8.30am one Tuesday morning. All Grasmere's cafes were closed but the door to Heidi's cafe was ajar. I chanced my arm and asked if there was any chance of breakfast even though they weren't open.

I couldn't have been made more welcome, despite leaving puddles across the floor. Lynn (we got chatting!) made scrambled eggs and bacon on toast and served up piping hot and delicious loose leaf tea (the tea pot was later topped up to get 3 cups out of it)

I would Heidily recommend Heidi's if you're looking for a warm welcome and a warm feeling in your belly.

Thanks

“Great place to stop for a sarnie in the sunshine”
Reviewed 14 July 2013 via mobile

Heidi's was a bit pricey but I found most places in grasmere on the pricey side. I had a lovely bloomer sandwich served with salad and vege crisps. Decor inside and out is brilliant. All very clean.

“Atrocious service”
Reviewed 3 July 2013

The woman who served us clearly did not want teenagers in her shop so she told us that to take out the panini was £3.95 but to eat in, an extortionate £7.95. She was also closed off and rude I would not go back
