£12.95 for two lunch meals which consisted of four slices of bread made into sandwiches, two consisted of tuna out of a tin not even flaked which was supposed to be blue fin tuna which was very sparse, the other sandwich consisted of egg and cress which consisted of only egg which again was very sparse and a basket of chips which consisted of one potato. Went in at 1.30pm ordered straight away and was served at 2.20pm....... probably had to wait for the chicken laying the egg and the blue fin couldnt be caught, so they went to the supermarket.

We ate here as a group of 10 adults to celebrate my husbands birthday and all of us were very impressed with delicious tasty food, served quickly by the very friendly staff. All the food arrived at the same time and was a very good standard. Can't recommend the Sticky Toffee pudding highly enough! Thank you to the staff for the good service and lovely meal.

When its a pie turned upside down! Unbelievable..This place is bad..Not only that...Scampi in a basket?...No scampi in a dish!...Buffalo Chicken Wings in a basket?..No...6 wings in a dish with a pot of ketchup in the middle...All for £7.95!

Really bad, but seeing as we had paid up front and had been out walking all day, we were hungry. They did give us a small refund following our complaint, but not good!

7 of us (4 adults, 3 kids) booked for 5:45pm. Had we have booked for 6:30pm we would have walked out such was the shambles that happened around us and, at times, involving us! Food mostly was decent enough but very expensive for what it was, but the issues were:
1 Kids chips were heavily salted
2 They had already run out of 3 main courses by 5:45pm
3 One of our group ordered an extra portion of chips, believing them to be 'hand cut' as most main courses there were served with 'hand cut' chips. However ours were standard supermarket oven chips - when we challenged this the main waiter advised that it was a "harder job in the kitchen to do hand cut chips and the chef wouldn't like to do it", plus "if he did we wouldn't get many chips for our money"!!! After complaining we eventually, grudgingly got our hand cut chips!
4 When we last visited 3 years ago an elderly couple ran it smoothly & efficiently and customer service was provided; 3 years on we are faced with 3 Eastern European men struggling in a busy pub, badly run with poor communication & terrible standards
5 By 6:30pm they were allowing customers into the pub to buy drinks but were then refusing to take food orders due to the kitchen being very busy
6 The man on the table next to us ordered Steak & Kidney Pudding - it was a steak & kidney pie turned upside down!!!!!!
7 Our young daughter's pudding had the jelly babies & sprinkles replaced with a sweet tofu topping - on challenging I was advised that this is all they had left!
I could go on but will simply state that this place is badly run and needs to be avoided at all costs unless they get back to old ways.

We visited just yesterday evening. The location and views are amazing. The atmosphere inside was a traditional Lakeland inn. The service was prompt and efficient, but the biggest disappointment was the food. Steak was very well cooked but we has asked for rare, the starter was awful supposedly a prawn and avacado dish it looked awful and tasted worse. The sticky toffee pudding was okay though clearly not home cooked. All in all we were thoroughly disappointed
