Just returned from a 3 night stay. Warm welcome on arrival and shown to a good sized clean and pleasant room. All staff were friendly and helpful, working together as a team.
Full English breakfast was excellent. Menu choice for dinner, service and the meals themselves were also excellent.
Will return.

We have just returned from a two night stay at the Bridge House Hotel. It is in a really good location right in the heart of the village and not far from some really good walks.

The hotel is charming, as are the staff. I liked being able to pick my own room by looking on their website and reading about it first. The room was very spacious and ours was right next to the river Rothay that runs through the village. I love the sound of water so was really pleased to be able to hear it all the time. For someone that doesn't like the sound of water I would suggest one of the rooms on the garden side.

The food at breakfast and dinner was excellent. The choice was very good and there was plenty of it.

There is a lovely quiet lounge to relax in after dinner and a small bar for drinks.

My only complaint was that the bed and the pillows were a bit on the hard side but that may just be me and it may suit someone else no problem. It would not put me off staying here again and I thought the cost for dinner, bed and breakfast was excellent value for money.

we booked this hotel mainly because of the good reviews received on tripadvisor. we weren't disappointed. the bridge house is in an excellent location in the centre of grasmere. we were fortunate to have a room directly overlooking the river and the many ducks. the room itself was very clean, comfortable and spacious. the evening meals were of an excellent quality on each of our three nights stay and the choice was varied. breakfast was also of very good quality. the staff were friendly and attentive throughout. this would appear to be a small family hotel that mainly attracts elderly people but this should not put off younger families who are looking for a relaxing break. the decor in the restaurant and lounge were a little dated but the bedrooms were quite modern and well equipped. we would definitely stay here again when visiting grasmere and would recommend it to others

Recently returned from a short break with my elderly mother in law. Stayed in room 2 which was on the ground floor and ideal as my mother in law has problems climbing stairs. The room was spotlessly clean, spacious and overlooked the river. It was lovely and relaxing listening to the river trickling past. Excellent food with plenty of choice both at breakfast and dinner time. Helpful and friendly staff. Lovely, peaceful location. Space to park your car. This hotel was recommended to me by a friend and we weren't disappointed. Excellent value for money and look forward to going back again.

The food was excellent plenty of choice and cooked to perfection. The staff are all polite and helpful, the rooms spacious clean and warm (it was freezing outside) all in all cant wait to return, will be back later in the year for a short break and again next year for 5 nights.

We have just returned from Bridge House, our 13th visit!!
This hotel is just fantastic. The rooms are always immaculate, although can differ quite a lot. We always have room 4 - view over the river, and a door out to the patio. We recommend either room 2, 3 or 4 as they are more spacious and a really high standard, although you do pay slightly more.
The 4 course dinner in the evening never disappoints us, and the breakfast really sets you up for the day! The cosy lounge is a great place to digest all that wonderful food, where you can help yourself to coffee or order drinks from the bar.
The Lamb Inn in the village is a friendly and cosy pub if you fancy a change, my husband can personally recommend the local beers!

This is a quiet, peaceful hotel where you instantly feel relaxed. The staff are always friendly, and we have booked our break there for next Feb as we left this morning!
If you want to stay in Grasmere, this is the place to go.
