We stayed here a couple of years ago when the hotel was not quite completed - i.e. the spa complex and the garden. It was very good then so we have given it another try. Just as good if not better than the first visit. Staff are well trained - friendly, helpful and keen to please; a good start. Public rooms are comfortable and relaxing so,if it rains (which it can sometimes do in the Lakes), you can read or people-watch in peace.. Bedrooms are well equipped with the usual necessaries and the beds extremely comfortable.
The restaurant overlooks the lovely gardens and the aspect is only excelled by the food. We had 2 nights here and on both dining occasions the menu was one of those where everything is tempting and what you choose does not disappoint (they have a cracking team in the kitchen).
There must be something to moan about? Well, we didn't find anything amiss, (perhaps the curse of piped music in the bar). We shall surely return here. There may be better hotels in the Lake District but I'll stick with this one!More
