We had an excellent stay. Staff were helpful from booking to checking out. Waiting on staff were really attentive, polite, respectful and just nice- asking about our day and where we had walked. For 'a room without a view' we had a lovely view of the hills. Breakfast options any amount and freshly made bread was delicious. Evening meal was the BEST fish pie and sticky toffee pudding! Price was comparable to most fine dining. Loved the spa thermal pool, sauna and steam room. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Just back from a couple of days at the Daffodil Hotel and we were not disappointed. This hotel was opened last July and is very clean and modern inside. Its situated opposite Dove Cottage overlooking the lake on one side and the valley on the other. Just on the edge of Grasmere village which is only a 5 minute walk away. The hotel rooms are very stylish and comfortable with magnificent views over both the lake and the valley. The staff were very polite and helpful. On the first night we booked into the hotel restaurant where again we were not disappointed. Both the chicken and the beef were well presented and tasty, and reasonably priced our bill with a bottle of wine coming to £40. The thermal spa is well worth a visit and very relaxing. The only critism would be on our second day to the spa we had to wait around 5 minutes to enter as they say only 20 people are allowed in at one time. Overall we would return back without hesitation.

Room Tip: Ask for a lake room and if your lucky you may get a view of the valley aswell

We stayed here around 5 years ago when it was the waterside and decided to go back since we had such a lovely time; we weren't disappointed.

The hotel is clean and modern and the rooms are lovely, paricularly if you have a lake view. The only negative is that the bedrooms have lost all of their chintsy charm and it would have been nice considering the setting if some of it had remained.

The breakfast was lovely and there was a geat range to suit everyone.

In terms of value for money, if the spa hadn't been so ridiculously expensive we might have actually used it.

Overall, we would definitely go back!

This hotel has recently opened & its cheapest rack rate room cost = £130 - £200 + per night.............Superior Room NO VIEW!!!!!

Now call me "sceptical" but whos paying for the refurb?............ how can any hotel charge such a price for a "Superior Room with NO View"...............in the Lakes????

Ive stayed at some of the best hotels in the world and even they dont charge these rates with no view.

Lets hope they buck their ideas up.

We stayed here for 2 nights in February. I was a bit nervous of coming here, as I don't normally like new, modern hotels. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. This hotel is very modern and bright, with lots of quirky art on the walls, which I loved. We stayed in a superior room with no view, and I think I would splash out on a room with a view next time, but we didn't spend much time in there, anyway. However, it was a lovely room, really bright, with one of the comfiest beds I have ever slept in, and a huge TV. Lovely bathroom with very modern fittings and a fab shower. We booked bed and breakfast, and the breakfast was really nice, with lots of everything and kept really hot, even though it was self service, and the hotel was quite busy. We ate in the restaurant at night, and the food and service was very good. We didn't use the spa, but it looked fab. All in all, a lovely hotel that we will definitely go back to.

Room Tip: Splash out on a lake view room, it is worth the extra.

Just got back from a 2 night stay in February. It was my first visit to the Lakes and I was not dissapointed. The hotel staff were polite and friendly. The hotel is situated on the edge of Grasmere Water and has a contemporary feel and is very clean and very comfortable. Molton & Brown toiletries are supplied in each room. The food is of a high standard and a reasonable cost with a good selection of wines on offer too. We also made use of the facilities in the Spa, I would advise you to book ahead for individual treatment as they book up quickly. However the thermal pool and the Sauna & Steam room are great and well worth a visit if you are not able to book anything or just fancy treating yourself. Would definately stay here again!!
Top Tip: Make sure you visit Sarah Nelson's Gingerbread shop in Grasmere (Short walk into the village) as their Gingerbread is fantastic!

Room Tip: The 'No view' rooms are good for a cheap option, but we upgraded to the Valley view rooms wh...

First the good things; The spa is brilliant!

Breakfast was a joke, it was like queuing up waiting for school dinners, a good 5 mins wait the staff couldn’t keep up the guests wanted.
The coffee was awful coffee too, it was so weak – sent it back so did a few more guests after I had complained! The restaurant and hotel on the whole is too sterile.
There view from our room was great until you looked down and saw the outbuildings been worked on and the fans for the air conditioning, the noise that came from the fans kept me away most of time, humming constantly very loud and annoying, besides the room doors in the hotel slam themselves shut very loudly too, so don’t expect to a lie in!
The bathroom light was also annoying, it was suppose to switch on automatically when you touched the taps, would have be great if it worked correctly.

Noisy sterile hotel that is very over priced.
