“Burger magic!”
Reviewed 27 January 2013 via mobile

We had lunch here as we'd heard from friends that the homemade burgers were delicious. Guess what they so are! Beautiful succulent beef, mixed herbs, juicy loveliness served on a fresh tasty roll with fresh salad and crispy fried bacon. Hand cut chips with dipping sauces, just what you need at any time of day.
I kid you not you will struggle to find a better burger for your money. Try it and prove me wrong.

“Very tasty”

Fantastic food - tasty and reasonably priced. Try the platter for starter followed by spaghetti bollagnaise. Delicious!

“A surprise treat.”
Reviewed 2 January 2013 via mobile

Tucked away in the garden centre in Grasmere is this treat of a cafe. We visited on a misty cold day in December 2012 and really just popped in for a coffee before a walk around the lake. As the coffee was good we decided to have lunch on our return from the walk and what a good decision that was. A simple cauliflower soup and steak sandwich combo was turned into a gourmet meal; the freshness of the bread, the subtle seasoning in the soup, the delicious salad dressing - all added up to much more than the £8 paid for it should have allowed for. The menu had larger meals on but none of us tried them but why bother when what we had was so good and very filling. The place looks like it is either new or recently decorated and the warm welcome cheered us up on a cold day. We said it to the manager at the time but thank you to the staff for adding a little touch of something special to our day.
