Lovely little shop the owners are so helpful. The homemade chocolates are delightful. There are plenty of samples on the counter to get your taste buds going. Well worth a visit....

“Better Than The Big Brands!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2014 via mobile

I have now visited The Grasmere Chocolate Cottage twice and on both occasions the owners have been lovely! They are both so enthusiastic and helpful. There are always samples to try and everything looks so mouthwatering! You won't be able to leave empty handed! This time I bought a selection of truffles and every single one of them was excellent. I particularly liked the Eton Mess cup and the Hazelnut Cup. Can't wait to visit again and try something new!

“Looks good tastes good”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 February 2014

Very nice chocolate, the owner was very happy to answer my 101 questions. I ate chocolate thinking they was samples for him to later tell me they wasn't :). He was very polite and told me to carry on eating as long as I was enjoying them. It is rather expensive but he did tell us how many hours the chocolates take to do, some could take up to 4 days!

“Yum Yum”

Do you like Chocolate?
Do you like lovely people?
Then go to the Grasmere Chocolate Cottage and meet Andrea and Richard ( yes I've been so often I know their names )
The handmade chocolates they make are absolutely wonderful. Not only are there exquisite 'posh' chocolate's (and there is always lots of samples to try. Rum truffle is my favourite) but there are the most beautiful range of chocolate drops in a huge variety of flavours ( I can't chose between the dark, the caramel or the orange flavours as my fave) the rainbow selection bag is a good option. There is also a comprehensive range of other sweets if chocolate doesn't float your boat. If you are really lucky Andrea might have made brownies (heavenly) or meringues (gooey loveliness). They explain to interested children (and adults) how they make the chocolates, everyone is made to feel so welcome. A wonderful shop run by, extremely talented and warm people. As another review put it ' don't go to any other chocolate shop in the Lakes - just go here' . Couldn't have put it better myself!

“Proper Hand Made Chocolate”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 November 2013

There are chocolate shops everywhere in the Lakes, but don't bother with them, just go to this one. The chocolate to sample is absolutely gorgeous and melts in the mouth, so of course we had to buy some to bring home - lovely texture and flavour. The shop doesn't look as inviting from the outside, there are also gifts for sale so perhaps is a little confusing as to what type of shop it is, bought a nice scarf as well. The owner/choc maker very friendly and helpful - many best wishes in your new venture.
