“Beautiful decor, friendly staff!”
Reviewed 8 September 2011

We stayed at Heidi's on recommendation by family and the hotel was fantastic. The decor was just beautiful, homely and stylish. The staff were friendly and inviting and always making sure everything was ok. We had the smallest room however it was spacious enough for two, had a lovely cosy feel and the bathroom had a tv by the bath which was an added bonus that we weren't expecting! The hotel was cleaned to a high standard and the heaty cooked breakfast was ideal for the long walks afterwards! We had the pleasure of speaking to Heidi the owner, who made sure that all aspects of our stay had been more than satisfactory and had we any comments she would have been more than happy to take them onboard and act on them. We will most definitely be back and staying at Heidi's long into the future!

Room Tip: Room 5 is the smallest room yet more than adequate for a couple, cosy and warm feel!

heidi's was booked for me as a surprise honeymoon break, and i couldnt have been happier . We love the lakes and Grasmere in particular , and have stayed in many of the hotels and bed and breakfasts, but we have found Heidi's is by far the best . The rooms are gorgeous , decorated so lovely and spotlessly clean. The breakfasts are fantastic and very often keep us going all day. The staff are allways friendly and make you feel so at home . Room 4 was amazing . Such loving care has been put into this place and it shows. Cant wait for an excuse to go back !!!

My husband and I thought the place was overall excellent, very clean. The breakfast was very good. We stopped in Room 5, however, would say if your quite tall not an ideal room as it has a sloping roof and I'm only 5 ft 3 and banged my head on numerous occasions. I would however, stay again and next time will ask for a different room.

We stayed at Heidi's lodge for 3 nights mid week in August. We were warmly greeted and shown to our room. The room was described as small on the website but I was pleasantly surprised and apart from a little less headroom on one side (due to the sloping ceiling) it was perfect for what we needed. The bathroom was a good size and we were surprised to find a TV above the bath which was a nice added feature (there was also a TV in the bedroom so you don't have to watch in the bath!). Our room was very clean and coffee & tea facilities replenished daily. The breakfast in the morning was very generous. A full cumbrian fry up was offered as well as cereal, fruit juices, fresh coffee and leaf tea. This sets you up for the day. The staff were very accommodating and made our stay very comfortable. An added touch of a card on my boyfriends birthday made us feel very welcome. There is a policy of no shoes upstairs (which is carpeted) this is a good idea due to the majority of guests bringing in muddy walking boots. Staff are happy to suggest walks and places to eat in the evening. The surroundings of Grasmere are beautiful and there are abundant walks near by. There is also an array of very good restaurants within walking distance of the b&b. All in all I would recommend Heidi's to couples who are after a relaxing, romantic get away or a walking holiday. We will be back again.

Myself and my husband stayed at Heidi's for 3 nights. We had Room 6 for the first 2 nights and Room 2 for the 3rd night as Room 6 was already pre-booked for our last night. This was our first trip to the Lake District but we will definitely be back. We had a lovely time and I couldn't recommend Heidi's enough - especially for girls as it's lovely and girly.
Room 6 is "The Suite" which has a sitting room area and bathroom then a spiral staircase to the bedroom and adjoining roof terrace. Room 2 was a standard bedroom with en-suite. In all the rooms and communal areas the furnishings were just to-die-for. Gorgeous and girly, just so pretty - floral wallpaper and lovely little knick-knacks.
The breakfast was also lovely - we had a cooked breakfast each day. You have to give your order on the previous day as they put the order in with the farm each day. The food was all lovely and the staff were very welcoming and friendly.
We had a lovely time and I can't wait to go back - highly recommended!

Room Tip: I'd recommend Room 6,

Grasmere great location with walks direct from door
Accomadation ( room 5 ) lovely romantic decorated snug, small but perfectly formed ( low headroom - in parts - added to its appeal )
Staff very freindly and helpful
