Foxhall B & B is a wonderful place to stay; Sylvia and Chris make you very welcome and as it is a family home – it is homely and comfortable, perfect for families or solo travellers everyone is made to feel as though it is their second home.
The food is fabulous and is cooked to order and whether you are Vegan, vegetarian or a meat eater you will find food heaven! I recommend the chilli beans and rice and Sylvia makes the best chocolate cake I’ve ever tasted – and its vegan – brilliant!
The bedrooms are very comfortable and clean, both bedroom and en-suite are generously proportioned with plenty of space to store clothes and things and the beds are very comfy.
There is a lovely large guest lounge which opens up onto the patio and gardens and you are welcome to relax and enjoy the gardens and the views over the valley and the Helm.
Foxhall is not far from the M6 junction and is handy for staying if travelling to and from Scotland or the south. It is tucked away in the quiet hamlet of Prizet which is 10 mins away from Kendal and local amenities and well placed to get onto the A6 or for travelling into the central lakes.
It is the little things sometimes that matter when you are on holiday or travelling and at Foxhall a lot of thought has gone into making you feel welcome and relaxed. Sylvia puts fresh arrangements of flowers from the garden in the rooms for your arrival; there are plenty of fresh clean towels for you and her home made quilts for you to snuggle in. There are vegan shower products in the rooms (Faith in nature) that smell beautiful. If you need anything Sylvia and Chris are more than happy to help you.
A brilliant place to stay – it is in a class of its own and not your run of the mill Trip Advisor B&Bs because it is Vegan and its whole ethos is sustainability without the use of animal products and they use eco friendly products. So if you love animals and the planet you will find like minded hosts and a beautiful place to stay.

Room Tip: All rooms are en-suite and are tastefully decorated. The snowdrop room has a shower all the other ro...

incredible food- fresh, cooked perfectly, great variety, and they bring you a lot of food - make sure to choose dinner and breakfast, and come hungry. Paradise for vegans, vegetarians, and anyone who appreciates good food. Hosts very personable and flexible. If you are vegan or vegetarian, and anywhere near the lake district, you MUST try this place.

Stayed for the first time at this vegan B&B for two nights, the quality of the food and the cooking was delicious and outstanding, Chris and Sylvia the owners, made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble, highly recommended for anyone to stay whether a meat eater or not. We will definitely be going back to stock up on Sylvia's homemade jam and chutney!
