We went as a group of four to the Blue Tiffin, and had a very good meal (indeed excellent food, and a reasonable Lassi - the second being much better than the first which was a little tasteless). This was all spoiled by the attitude of one member of staff. We had booked in advance (saying that would like to use two Bay Vouchers - one each for each couple) which they said was OK on the phone but then got a little negative when we wanted to settle up (including questioning whether one of the vouchers was genuine as it had been printed on a recycled bit of paper). Then they revealed that their card machine was not working - and having see a fuss earlier in the evening at another table, we realised it had not been working for some time. None of us had any cash so we had go out and visit a cash point, which would have been OK if we had been advised of the technical problem when we arrived or when it happened, but one member of staff wanted another to accompany us (we left two of our party at the restaurant now feeling a little like hostages). Thus, overall I can thoroughly recommend the food, but if you do visit be prepared for some unfriendly interactions. This would stop me visiting again, but you may want to take this as water off a duck's back.

Ate here on Christmas Day - was so pleased to find a restaurant that did not charge rip off prices just because it was Christmas. We chose from the normal menu and were charged normal prices. Brilliant! The place was warm, unlike another Indian restaurant we stopped visiting as they never had the heating on and the food got cold. The service was friendly and whilst we were there, four Asian lads came in for a meal.

Visited this indian whilst on a few days away in kendal. On being showed to our table we were told that they couldn't take card payments that night but there was a cash point around the corner. We decided to stay and ordered the Thawa Special. The food was lovely although too much for us to eat! We had the added entertainment of the waiter Assam who said he was looking after the place for the owner, who was away at the time on holiday. He was attentive and friendly and virtually gave us his life history! We were the only ones in the restaurant at this time though! Would return for a second visit. Thankyou.

This 'revised' restaurant started very well after the last owners went bust and is now the Blue Tiffin. We had our third meal in there last night and straight away we noticed the new staff - to cut a long storey short we hope the team that was in last night are just standing in for holidays. Food was average and not up to the same standard as last time we ate here (about 3 weeks ago) we also noticed prices have increased. .

Ordered our Takeaway Delivery basically didn't get our food!
After waiting an hour & a half we rang to chase up the order to be told 15 mins another 30 + minutes passed still no food so after being hung up on and another phone call we cancelled nearly 2 1/2 after we ordered!
Glad it never arrived as a friend of ours the next day got the dish I ordered - Garlic Chicken & it had more Garlic Cloves on the Plate than Chicken & Rice! Would not recommend. There's 2 lovely Indian Restaurants round the corner!!
