Stayed for a weekend a couple of weeks ago. Reception and entrance plus overall feel of the hotel was clean, spacious and friendly. Despite a wedding reception and 60th birthday party the hotel didn't feel overly busy or noisy. Room was fine, coffee and tea in relatively meagre quantities. The bathroom was spotless, but disappointingly the previous occupants' half finished supplies were left behind for us to use.
Dinner in the restaurant gave super food and service, but at approx £100 I would have preferred are more intimate restaurant with more character, not sitting in a very open plan and bright room.
We were going to go to the pub on site the following night, but as we hadn't booked couldn't get in. It appeared to be like either a canteen or classroom (again with no character). Fortunately. We drove into town and found a fantastic Italian restaurant.
All in all, no complaints, but would I return, the answer is unfortunately No, not as a first choice in the area.More
