“This time it wasn't raining!”
Reviewed 18 May 2014

Went on a Friday and the "castle" was closed to the public. Seen one NT interior, seen them all (cynic!) and I'm an NT member. Gardens were stunning - certainly the best I've seen at an NT property. Café etc all top notch with really nice staff.
The "woolwood" (?) - you had to be there - did resemble, in parts, a mass suicide by some weather beaten dolls. In fairness some of the exhibits were very cute.
Ideal location for photographers.
Well worth a visit.

“A full day's visit!”
Reviewed 16 May 2014

Excellent visit on Monday 12th May - gardens looking lovely, the woolwood ? was fascinating (loved the caterpillars!) and the castle itself packed with goodies. Staff in the castle very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable - a really good visit - thanks Nat Trust!
Used the cafe for a cuppa and a snack - yummy soup!

“Loved it”
Reviewed 11 May 2014

We visited Sizergh Castle for a break on our way to Bowness on Windermere. We loved it. The Castle tour was brilliant and the guides very informative, both human and in paper form. The Gardens were lovely, but it was raining hard, so we did not linger too long.
The self-service café was busy, but the food was very good, as with most NT properties.

“Interesting visit”
Reviewed 8 May 2014

We have visited Sizergh on a couple of occasions and there is always something different to see. The Castle is very interesting for both adults and children alike. The gardens are beautiful and easy to walk around. It was particularly spectacular with all the rhododendrons and azaleas in bloom.
