We had a very nice lunch stop here and ate a couple of filling sandwiches. The Cumberland sausage sarny was very tasty. Service was friendly too.

I stumbled across this cosy cafe whilst looking for shelter from the rain and am glad I did. Had a hearty breakfast and coffee in warm surroundings served by lovely friendly staff. I would love to try the evening menu next time I'm in Kendal.

food OK, but not family orientated as there is no room whatsoever for buggies, there are high chairs but block any pathway when using one

Nice little cafe tucked away off a side street in Kendal centre. Lovely soup , sandwiches and meals. Nice staff , good service , doesn't cost a fortune. Thanks!

Had an hour to kill in Kendal recently and having heard good things about The Joshua Tree decided to pop in for breakfast and coffee. The sign above the door as well as several ornamental quotes on the walls offer pretensions of a place that knows its coffee...this however is far from the case! My hopes of a decent cup were initially dashed when my request for a flat white were met by the waiter with 'what's that'? Subsequent screaming of the espresso machine, boiling the milk within an inch of its life did nothing to quell my pessimism and duly a cup of burnt frothy milk on top of watery espresso arrived.......Possibly the garnish of a cheap bought in 'coffee biscuit' was supposed to appease my disappointment!?

Breakfast, although very reasonably priced wasn't much better. Rubbery, tasteless scrambled egg on top of sliced brown bread with 3 hearty rashers of bacon its only saving grace. To be fair to them, the staff were very pleasant but the interior really feels like it could do with bringing up to the present. The decor is incredibly dated and the pine tables and chairs provide the place with very little authenticity. I'm not sure the The Joshua Tree really knows whether its a cafe, restaurant, bistro, coffee house or greasy spoon and judging by the line share of positive reviews regarding the food on here, maybe they should just stick to that.
