“Great location , friendly welcome”
Reviewed 8 July 2014 via mobile

We were supposed to be a group of 10 , arriving on a Friday afternoon, it turned out only 7 of us made it. We had an all male dorm room booked and were happy to pay the extra for the under occupancy but the very friendly Kristina ( owner ) said that we could have a room for 7 and then only pay for who had arrived, which went a long way with us all. Kristina was very helpful, suggesting things for us to do in the locality and pubs/restaurants for us to try. The place is a little kookie but that just adds to the charm. At £22 a night you can't really complain, the bathrooms (we had a private one) and kitchens are all clean and do the job. It's in a great spot in town too, just turn left at the front door and all the pubs ,bars , restaurants and shops are a few hundred yards away. Oh and free WiFi too.

Great location in town centre. Easy access to M6. Ideal stop over when travelling to or from Scotland. The staff are friendly and helpful. The building is old and the floors and walls are uneven which add to a quirky visit.

Room Tip: Try to avoid a room overlooking the main road there's a lot of traffic noise.

A tired hostel in the Lakes district, Lakes area is beautiful with lots to offer. A lot off good walking and Beautrux Potter is wonderful. A good walk is up "Old Man Coniston". Beautiful area but expensive.

Room Tip: A very run down facility, could not access wifi. Owner never available to assist.

Really recommend staying here was so lovely, they had a fire, free pool and a cat and a dog so I was easily amused. Great kitchen and dining area as well and great location in the centre of Kendall. Don't stay anywhere else!

I ended up stuck in Kendal one night and the very nice people at Kendal Hostel sorted me out with accommodation even though it was 11pm and after hours. Very homely and I would definitely use again after my stay here.
