“Cracking stay in Kendal”

Stayed here for a long weekend, the 1 bedroom apartment was spotless and very nice, it is located in lovely countryside and the owners are fantastic and go that extra mile to make your stay more enjoyable. We will definately return to this accomodation.

I stayed here for work as I was driving to Workington the next day and our Admin lady found me this beaut.

When I arrived I have to admit it didn't look much from the outside but once you get in it's massive inside and the space is lovely.

I have the room over the watermill and the sound of the water put me to sleep in about 3 seconds and the bed was So comfortable i had to ask where to get one.

Bathroom was lovely and free wifi with a decent connection so I could work.

Breakfast was lovely too and the owner was lovely as well.

Definitely making an excuse for another stay here soon! Thanks again for your great hospitality!

Ema

Millers Beck is in the ideal location for a base to explore both The Lakes and the Yorkshire Dales. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The guest house is exceptionaly clean and stylish, and our room had breathtaking views over the surrounding countryside.
We must mention the breakfast, cooked to order, which set us up for the rest of the day. The homemade jams and yoghurt made it extra special.
We have stayed at several other B&Bs in the area and none have provided the value fo money that we recieved here.
As a footnote, we had excellent evening meals at the nearby Crooklands Hotel and also The Station Inn.
We will definitely returnin the future.

Room Tip: We found that by booking with Millers Beck direct, rather than through an agency like LateRooms or B...

We stopped at this B&B in the Lake District for one night on route to Scotland and would have been happy to stay longer. Not far off the motorway and fairly unassuming from the outside, this former mill, complete with rushing stream outside our bedroom window, was refreshingly contemporary. The partners who have renovated the property have succeeded in creating a lovely mix of rustic charm with clean lines, plenty of space and light - lots of contemprary art and not a bit of naff touristy tatt in sight. And a damned good breakfast too. Good value.

Ok I admit I'm picky. Mainly due to having been in the trade for longer than safe for the retention of sanity - but have to take my hat off to this place. It is faultless. The decor and furnishings have been chosen with great care and a good eye, its all very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We have stayed here for a number of weeks in total, both B&B and in one of the two self catering apartments and wouldn't stay anywhere else. The breakfasts include homemade jams and marmalades and freshly cooked good quality produce - informally served by extremely considerate and friendly hosts. The attention to detail .......... nothing is too much trouble. The apartments are well thought out, comfortably and tastefully furnished and very, very clean. Exceptional in every way.

We can only endorse the other reviews about Millers Beck, we stayed for two nights in september and very extremley impressed by the cleanliness and quality of the furnishings and linens. The owners ( Paul and Granville ) were very welcoming and gave us some excellent advice about places to visit and where to eat during our stay (try the nearby Pub " The Punch Bowl " it is only a fifteen minute walk from Millers Beck but take a torch with you as the Main road has no lighting ) we had a really nice Breakfast and the homemade yogurt and preserves were outstanding, the building itself has an interesting history and although fully modernised many of the original Beams and Supports have been left showing, all in all a great place to stay which we fully intend to do on our next visit to the area.

Room Tip: If you dislike the sound of Running water ask for a room away from the Mill Race ( Although we actua...

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful 2 night stay at Millers Beck.

Paul was very welcoming and we found the room to be comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated. Our room looked out onto wonderful countryside and although there is a country road that in the day we could hear the odd car going through, at night it was very quiet.

Breakfast was superb. The full english used quality sausages/bacon etc. and I very much recommend Paul's homemade ginger and rhubarb jam.

We didn't explore the area around Kendal too much as we were interested in the higher lake region but this drive to Windermere/Grassmere only took 15 mins.

We did try the local pub 'The Punchbowl' one night - nothing particularly to recommend about it, but as a spot for a drink it was fine and only a 10 minute walk away.

All in all, a great stay in a lovely setting - this converted mill was a pleasure to stay in and we will be back.
