Stayed on our way up to Scotland for 1 night. Really handy as a couple of minutes off the M6. Nice and clean with very friendly staff and good food and I would recommend this as a stop off for the night.

Stayed at the hotel for a 60th birthday celebration with family and friends. Had a brilliant weekend, the hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant and enjoyed the comfy bar area. Reference the reviewers comments about the drunks trying to get into the hotel - the drunks were not residents and the hotel could not be blamed for them trying to gain access. This is a small hotel and you cannot expect 24 hour reception.

I have stayed here before, and the location is a winner if travelling the M6 around the Lake District area.
Free parking and wi-fi as normal, bedrooms large but not luxurious at all, bathrooms need a refurb as they are very dated.
The staff are pretty good, experienced and customer orientated, the beer was good, and the menu was varied whether you eat in the bar or restaurant. Breakfast doesn't start until 7.30AM which can be an issue if you need to hit the road early.

Stayed one night. Hotel decor a hotch potch of colours and themes. Room clean and fresh but a bit small. Main problem was that we were on the ground floor near an outdoor extension to the bar and the hotel entrance, so noisy in the daytime and woken at 3am by two drunks trying to get in to the hotel. There are no staff around at night and the reception is closed between 11pm and 7am. The hotel is locked and you cannot get out. We needed to check out early which was far from easy.

I booked a few rooms for a family trip to the lakes. The hotel staff where very helpful when booking and in the restaurant and bar, and the hotel was nice and bright and clean, although a little soulless. We ate in the restaurant and the food was nice and the breakfast was standard hotel fare in the morning. We had a problem with a broken radiator that would not switch off and turned the room into a sauna, however the only solution was a fan, which ruined the nights sleep.

This is an absolute gem of a place. Always a warm welcome and the staff do all that they can to make you welcome. The food is wonderful. Very handy for the M6 and close to Kendal and the lakes. Definitely one of our favourites.

Our 1 night stay was excellent. This is first class hotel of its type. It does the job well. Food choice was good. Meals were well prepared and served. Bar was good too. Good place to stop off from the M6.
