Eleven of arrived for pre-booked meal. The bar had run out of all real ales so lager and John Smiths it was then. The food was 50/50 some good some bad. Overcooked monkfish x 4, insipid moules but great game pie, veggie curry. Could do better. Will try once more to see if it is better. On the plus side staff very helpful and very clean and spacious inside

1 mile off the motorway, 4 miles from Kendal - an excellent peaceful location. We chose Crosslands Hotel as a stopover from Scotland to Wiltshire. Room 34 + ensuite had recently been redecorated/renovated and was spacious, well furnished and equipped. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Evening meal absolutely delicious. Well worth the price paid for such a nice hotel.

Room Tip: We chose a superior room (room 34); the rooms/bathrooms in this wing have all recently been refurbished.

We stayed for one night as a "stop off" en route north and wished we had stayed for longer. We had lovely rooms on the ground floor, clean, spacious and comfortable. We ate in the restaurant on a busy Saturday evening (good job we had booked). The food and service was excellent. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We were blessed with beautiful weather and relaxed outside with drinks. Short walk to the canal for a morning stroll. Perfect!

My wife and I stayed here 1 night while visiting Windermere and vicinity. The rooms were clean and roomy. The service staff was very friendly. Bathrooms were nice (good water temp/pressure, towels). It was a nice change from the hectic hotels we had been staying at in large towns/cities. It was quiet, and we had a pleasant and memorable stroll along the canal across the road after dinner. Wifi was iffy in our room, I had to move out to one of the sitting areas to get a good signal. No AC and the rooms were a bit warm this time of year. Windows didn't allow for great air flow so it took a while to cool the room down at night.

We decided to eat dinner here, and were pleasantly surprised. Vegetable soup was stellar. I ordered the game pie and my wife got some vegetarian dish. They were both exceptional. Drank a few local ales from the bar and they were excellent as well.

Stayed here en route to Scotland. Adequate facilities for one night, water and fruit provided in room was a nice touch. Staff very friendly and attentive and good menu in restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Good location, not far from M6, but quiet, rural feel. Plenty of parking too.
