Visited the 2 Sisters Café yesterday for the first time - what a find!! The food was lovely - Panini and cake/desert with fabulous coffee. The cakes are gorgeous - I don't think I've seen a chocolate cake so deep. Well worth a visit - we will certain return - only 10 minutes from home.

The afternoon tea here is one of the best we've had. Don't look for petite and elegant sandwiches, but do expect extremely fresh and very tasty fare, on wholesome hand-cut bread. The scones were light - but filling - and the cakes very obviously home-made, and delicious. The white chocolate and elderflower cake, and the lemon meringue pie are highly recommended. Very good portion sizes all round. A relaxing and extremely enjoyable experience, with very friendly and helpful staff.
Located in the yard of Plumgarth's, but with no obvious signage to the 2 Sisters at the roadside, easy to miss if you are looking for any sign other than Plumgarth's.

The 2 sisters café is situated just off the main road from M6 junction 36 to Windermere, tucked away in Plumgarth which has a farm shop and gift shop as well. It has ample free parking which is quite a bonus for the Lake District. The café is, not surprisingly, run by two sisters who produce some excellent food. It is all home cooked with fresh ingredients and many of the items such as the quiches and soups are changed daily. It is not a large café so can get quite full at times. When we visited it was a warm sunny day so we sat at the outside tables. The only drawback is that these tables are on the edge of the car park but other than that the whole experience was delightful. I can heartily recommend the chilli chicken and beans. Portions were substantial so we didn’t have room for a dessert. This was our second visit and we shall return, it is so convenient if you are visiting The South Lakes or Kendal

The service off the 2 ladies is excellent. The choice is very good considering how small this place is..the coffee is perfect and the apple pie although it doesn't look anything special............is devine. Table are well layed out and there is seating outside when the sun is shining. My 2 year old loves the sausages on the cooked breakfast that we ask for a few more which the ladies charge a minimal amount

We found this place by accident and were very pleased with it. The food was delicious I had quiche and salad, the quiche is probably the best I've ever had. The cakes were good too although no room for me! The service was good and reasonably priced. The farm shop next door is excellent and can thoroughly recommend the pork and black pudding sausages.
An ideal cafe for lunch. Thank you
