We have been going to the ice cream parlour for 5 years now, since our daughter was born and it's been great. A clean, child friendly place with good food.
However, over the past year we have noticed a decline in the value for money, particularly on the specials board. This came to a head yesterday. We were really looking forward to our chorizo, olive and sun dried tomato tarts with beetroot salad and incredibly disappointed with the plate put in front of us. The 'tart' was a square vol au vont case with a couple of teaspoons of chorizo, an olive and possibly a bit of tomato, that had just been spooned in after the case had been cooked, accompanied by a very small salad. For this we had been charged £6.95 each. Our daughters half jacket potato with 2 fillings was the smallest half a potato, with a teaspoon of tuna and teaspoon of sweetcorn on top.
Needless to say we all left very hungry and not at all satisfied.
We have given the ice cream parlour lots of chances over the past year, but maybe now it's time to find somewhere else.
