“Very Peaceful”
Reviewed 30 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Fantastic holiday property in a great location and the owners runs this place flawlessly.

I normally look for very modern, fairly newly renovated holiday cottages but this place had a very homely vibe to it (plus a hot tub!) so we thought we'd give it a go.

We were not disappointed. Everything you could possibly need in the house (did I mention the hot tub?) and very close to Kendal and Windermere (both great days out). On top of that it's right next door to the Ourdoor Activity Centre which is well worth a visit (recommend the clay shooting and archery).

Can't recommend this place enough, we had a great week.

How easy was it to book the property? How helpful were the directions to the property?
How easy was key pickup/access to the property?

I am very pleased you enjoyed the cottage. I do point out in the information that a car is required as It is a rural cottage. I hope that it did not cause you too much inconvenience and am pleased you enjoyed it overall. Thank you x

When you imagine a break away to a lovely cottage in the country, this is exactly as you would wish for - and then some. Everything the previous reviewers have said are all true, the cottage, the garden, the location - all excellent. If you are fortunate enough to have come across this cottage & are reading these reviews then look no further - book it you will not be disappointed it's perfect.

“Lovely cottage, well equipped, great location, pretty, warm and comfortable.”
Reviewed 7 July 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Really enjoyed staying here. Real wood fire, lovely garden, quiet and secluded, nicely furnished. Really pretty garden with a great view, and obviously the hot tub is a bonus. Location is great for Kendal and all things Lakes, but don't forget to look South and East as well for things to do and see. Kendal climbing centre was a winner, as was the Station Inn. Local amenities for supermarkets and shops all really easy to get to. Good to see the less mountainous side of the Lakes. Thanks very much for letting us stay, and we'll definitely come back soon.

“Idyllic, tranquil get-away”
Reviewed 2 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

This is the third year in a row we've stayed at Holmescales. The cottage is gorgeous. So cosy and well equipped. Location is great, easy to access when coming from the South. Catherine, the owner, is really helpful and has thought of everything. I used the hot tub for the first time this year. It was bliss, relaxing in the garden taking in the gorgeous view. Looking forward to our next visit.

Thank you Catherine.
