“Quiet and peaceful”

A comfortable and cosy stay with ample information about the area, found that really useful.Alison was very nice and made sure that all was good on arrival.

Good collection of games, DVD's and books, though we didn't get much time for them. I feel Dragon Den is a very apt name for that cosy place.

“Comfortable well located base to explore the Lakes District”
Reviewed 3 October 2016 for a stay in September 2016

A very comfortable and we'll set up cottage. Generous living area and full kitchen. Located in quiet village, but in excellent position to head out each day to explore Lakes District. Parking on street, but this was never a problem in the quiet village. Host communication was excellent. Also local public access walks right from your door.

“Excellent all round”
Reviewed 12 June 2016 for a stay in May 2016

We stayed here for 3 nights with our 5 year old daughter. It was exactly as all the other reviews suggest - lovely cottage in a really lovely quiet spot. It is clearly really well looked after and has a much better range of 'extras' than you would usually expect from a self catering cottage - from having washing up liquid and cling film in the kitchen so you don't have to bring/buy essentials, through to board games, books and DVDs in case the Lake District weather lives up to its reputation. There was even some fresh eggs and tea for us when we arrived.

Alison the owner was really helpful and friendly throughout the booking process and checking we had arrived ok and had everything we needed. For us this place was perfect and I'm sure we'll be back to stay in future.

“Excellent cosy cottage in a lovely peaceful spot”
Reviewed 23 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We had a fab week at Dragons Den. The setting is very peaceful and you definitely need a car to get around but it is a perfect base for exploring both the lakes and the Yorkshire Dales in the other direction. The cottage is beautifully presented and had everything we needed for a lovely stay. (My children enjoyed all the board games so much we sometimes had trouble tearing them away!)

The owner Alison popped round with some extra towels (after texting first) and was very friendly and hospitable so have no doubt would be on hand very quickly if there had been any problems. The only other thing that might be useful since the cottage is probably booked by lots of families like ours who like to go out for walks would be a washing machine/dryer so you could clean up some of those muddy clothes. However, this is not a big issue and we would definitely recommend Dragons Den as a really lovely place to stay.

Many thanks for your kind review. I do appreciate your comments about a washer/dryer but due to the space limitations in the kitchen it just isn't possible.
Very pleased you and the family had a nice time!

“Clean, cosy and accommodating!”
Reviewed 18 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

Having stayed at the Dragons' Den cottage for 3 nights, I would without question consider heading back there in the future! The cottage was a perfect size for our needs and all facilities and rooms were incredibly clean and beautifully furnished. The cottage is placed in a beautiful location alongside a gently, trickling brook with a number of walks right on the doorstep.

The owners were incredibly accommodating and friendly, even offering to give us a lift back to the train station. There is also a comprehensive information pack, which gives information regarding local attractions and restaurants.

All in all, incredibly good value for money and an incredibly relaxing and enjoyable stay was had by us all!
