“Good Travelodge”

A good Travelodge, newish and to their latest standard.
Good bed and pillows, no longer need to take my own. Plenty of hot water.
Location good for Kendal and south east Lakeland. Like some travelodges it requires going past the hotel and turning round if coming south.
Take car approaching as the hotel is not visible until you are there and you can easily drive past.

Just wanted to write a quick review to say how please we were with our stay, please don't be put off by negative reviews, we got a great deal for our 2 nights, especially as hotels in the lakes are rather expensive. Hotel was clean, rooms where a great size and was perfect for our weekend break

During the Easter holidays, my Mum, Dad, brother and I had two rooms and stayed at this travelodge for 4 nights.

There is a small reception area with the front desk, a vending machine, a few seats, a TV and some leaflets which is a good idea if you want some ideas of where to go or places near the area.

When you check in, you will receive a card that is unique to your room. There is a door separating reception from the corridor. You will use your room card to get through this door and this is a great safety element.

There are two floors, basic rooms, not much of a view (we had a view of the car park) and because travelodges are only suited for those who only want a room, it doesn't have a breakfast/dining room, or any leisure or fitness facilities (e.g. a gym or a swimming pool) like some hotels do. The hotel does offer you a 'breakfast in a box' at a small additional cost where you can collect it from reception and enjoy it in your room. I didn't have this though, but croissants seem to be the contents of the breakfast box.

In the room, there are tea/coffee facilities, a bathroom (provided with towels and soap), a window, a TV, a chair and a table. In our rooms, we had a double bed and a single bed and also in the family room, there was a mattress under the bed too.

Each day, the beds are made and the tea and coffee sachets are topped up.

Although this was a family trip, I would recommend it to more business people as it tends to be designed for more of a single night stay.

Overall, it was fairly cheap to reasonably priced, quiet, near to the town centre and when we arrived at the room, it was clean and tidy and the staff that we spoke to were pleasant and quite welcoming.

Room Tip: If travelling with a family, the rooms can be fairly small. If there is more than 3 people going, I...

An immaculate Travelodge within an ideal location. Just off the M6 towards Kendal. Staff very friendly, courteous and efficient. Room size ideal for the family and in recent visits, the family beds are made up for you.

Visited with large family group and for me this is exactly what I expect from what is essentially a motel. The rooms are recently refurbished and now have the excellent "dreamer bed" which gave a great nights sleep.

The location is on a main road in the middle of nowhere with all the advantages and disadvantages this brings. People complaining about this need to open their eyes as it is exactly what is shown on the website.

There is no food nearby but the helpful receptionist recommended a pub called "the gateway" 4 miles along the road which was excellent.

Clean tidy basic bed for the night directly on route. Personally exactly what I use Travelodge for.

This hotel was exactly as described on the Travelodge website and met our needs for a one night stay. We would like to thank the staff on duty on the reception when we checked out on the morning of 7/4/14. One in particular went out of his way to give us detailed directions to a garage for our car to be repaired & his local area knowledge was superb - thank you.

we stayed at the kendal travel lodge this weekend as we were there for a wedding, the room was perfectly clean and comfortable, on arrival when the guy on reception saw we had a baby, he offered us a travel cot, the bed was very comfy.
the only downside is there isnt much nearby (except a petrol station) so make sure you eat or scout out places to eat as we wound up eating a pot noodle the first night.
