We hired crockery from 'Crockery Crisis' which is owned by the Heaves Hotel, for a family celebration. We hired the vintage collection and it was beautiful , all our guests were admiring the crockery and it made the day very special. The ease of ordering , collection and return was very efficient and straight-forward and I would definitely recommend this service.

We have been visiting Heaves House for the last 4/5 years. There is a group of 5 of us who travel to a dog show nearby each year. They were unable to accommodate us this year so had to find alternative accommodation which was okay as a standby. Once we knew the date for next year we were on the phone booking to make sure we could get in. House full of old charm with owners who find nothing too much trouble and if there is a small problem will inform you of what is happening. Food is excellent and very reasonable and dogs love the gardens. Roll on next July.

I and my friend were travelling back from our day out whilst on a June holiday and we were looking for somewhere to eat. We were driving down a lane off the dual carriageway and spotted a "Whitby Scampi served here" sign so decided to drive down the road and found this hotel. It is accessible for me by a ramp for my electric scooter. The accessible toilet was ok, a little tight to get to and had to walk half a dozen steps but was ok. The hotel has several large ground floor lounges/halls of which one was serving drinks from the bar and another we had our dinner in. Us and two other small groups of guests were eating in a room that could easily seat many more. Miles is the chap who served our meals and according to his own admission he decorates and maintaines the large building himself. Our food was prepared fresh by the chef. The hotel is impressive and has guest accomodation upstairs that would not suit me in an electric wheelchair as there is no lift, except a stairlift apparently. Lovely feeling, good staff, good food. We were there around 8-10.30pm.

My wife and I stayed here 18 months ago and always intended to return. We did the other night and it was just as enjoyable. A charming atmosphere with people running it who understand and love the building. The room was huge with a superb bathroom and all the mod cons you need with old fashioned style. We had a fantastic meal with one of the best steaks I have ever eaten which just melted in the mouth and a great bottle of wine, all at less than pub prices.

We visited a craft fair at the hotel and enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea while we were there. This prompted us to return later for evening meal which was a real treat.

Excellent food and great service, we felt very much at home. The views from the dining room are lovely and it's a very peaceful location even though it's conveniently placed just off the A590.

The 3 course dinner is well priced and we will definitely be visiting again and adding this to our 'favourites'.

We came as part of a group of about 20 people who have our ‘Christmas Party’ here every February, we all love this place and come year on year. This is our fourth visit here and I’m glad to say, nothing has changed. It still has the same quaint, quirky, idiosyncratic charm that makes this hotel so different, so special, and a place we all look forward to visiting.

I have reviewed this hotel before and there is little else to add, other than to say that we enjoyed an excellent meal there that evening, and we are all looking forward to visiting again next year.
