“If I could pick this cottage up and take it home, I would!”
Reviewed 13 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We stayed here for 3 nights. 4 adults, 2 teenagers and 3 young children. We absolutely loved this cosy cottage! We were given directions to get here and found it with no problem. When we walked in it was much bigger than we expected. It is furnished beautifully. I really recommend that Julie have some professional photos taken of the cottage as I feel the ones up do not do it justice. This was a lovely break for us with friends. Lake Windermere was probably about 30 minutes away and Kendal about 20 minutes. The property is just off the motorway which is convenient if you do need to travel out, we could hear the cars however didn't really bother us. The cottage has absolutely everything, all we needed to bring was food. This was our first visit to the Lakes but I would definitely return here again to just to stay in this property again!

“Gorgeous farmhouse!”
Reviewed 2 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We arrived at this beautiful farmhouse for a weekend to celebrate a family members 60th birthday, complete with two dogs and a Grandmother in tow! The house is very close to the M6 but you will need directions to find the farm. We found it no problem using the directions Julie had given us prior to setting off. Upon arrival we were greeted and shown around the house (which is huge!) Heating and wifi worked perfectly, there is also a wood burner in the living room.

The house was clean and furnished to perfection. There were fresh flowers in nearly every room downstairs which was a lovely touch and made it feel more like home for the weekend. The house is in a very rural location, so a car would be needed to get to places. It took us about 15/20 minutes to drive to Kendal, and it was a further 20 minutes from there to get to Bowness-on-Windermere.

The house is situated on a farm so there were quite a few friendly dogs roaming around outside (which was no problem at all to us) and you could also see horses in their stables from the dining room window. We met the owner, Julie, who was lovely and popped in to ensure that we had everything we needed. Prior to staying, we had mentioned that we needed 6 champagne flutes for a bucks fizz birthday breakfast, Julie only had a few at the house so very kindly bought us some more. (Thank you again.)

All the bedrooms were clean and tidy, and the main bathroom was gorgeous - complete with a roll top bath! (The taps were slightly wobbly in the en-suite bathroom, but they worked fine so it really wasn't of any issue.)

We really enjoyed our stay and would happily stay at the farmhouse again.

“Lovely farmhouse in rural location”
Reviewed 17 July 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Spent 4 nights here in May, very well decorated and comfortable you would not be disappointed. Had difficulty in finding it though you will need to contact the owners when you arrive in the vicinity. The M6 is close but is not a problem as the house has very thick walls! lLovely views over the valley towards the edge of the Dales from the house.
Had trouble with booking.com as they cancelled the holiday without notice and then requested a second deposit before reinstating the booking, the deposit was supposed to be returned when we started the holiday but did not happen. Lots of emails back and forth until last week (July) it finally came through. No apologies so beware of booking.com

“Fabulous bank holiday weekend stay”
Reviewed 2 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

I booked this cottage as a base for myself and 8 close relatives (including a 1 year old!) I couldn't be happier with our stay. We were made to feel very welcome and loved the layout of the house. It was large and having 2 sitting rooms meant we could spread out when we chose to or gather around the wood fire when we wanted. Loved the aga...Want one now! The M6 is very near but not a problem at all to us. It was an excellent base for my daughter's wedding (in Windermere and Kendal) Loved being able to see horses in their stables from the sitting room window! Thank you so much for our stay. Hope to come again at some point. :-) x

“Excellent, large accommodation with bags of character”
Reviewed 11 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

We stayed here over Christmas 2014. The house was tastefully decorated with Christmas decorations, adding a little more wow. We have 3 young boys and the house was a fantastic space for us to celebrate. Our family joined us for Christmas dinner in the cottage and we were all equally impressed. The cottage is on a farm so come prepared with wellies!

Stayed over the New Year period with a group of 10 friends. The house is absolutely beautiful and full of character. House is bigger than expected and accommodated us all. Julie and family were helpful and I would definitely recommend it.

“Pre christmas visit”
Reviewed 27 December 2014 for a stay in December 2014

Probably the best place we have stayed. Eight adults and a dog. Horrible weather but didn't worry us as the accommodation was just perfect. It is right next to the M6 but you just don't hear it and the views are amazing. Will definitely come again
