I went to The Wheatsheaf with my family for a birthday treat three weeks ago. We all enjoyed a lovely meal in nice surroundings. We had been to The Wheatsheaf a few months ago and both meals were really good. We will definitely return in near future.

Booked to have a lunch here with a group on a visit to the Lake District. Had a lovely meal, very polite and friendly staff, really good food, I had the fish pie after reading a previous review and it was really good, quite a few had the slow cooked brisket which they all enjoyed, the sticky toffee pudding went down well too. I would definitely return and would recommend

Have visited to eat here several times over the years but it went into decline . How pleasing to see the turnaround new bar and layout and tastefully decorated. The changes have not finished by the looks with a new outside veranda being completed. We received a nice welcome and our waitress was attentive and very pleasant smiling and polite. The food has also improved somewhat. We did have a small complaint with this being handled very well. We are involved in the tourism industry in the area and would not discourage anyone from making the journey to Brigsteer. We will return. We'll done and good luck

Decided on the spur of the moment to go out for dinner and thought we would try The Wheatsheaf at Brigsteer which we heard was under new management. It was lovely! The drive out was stunning on a sunny evening and we were given a pleasant welcome. The food was excellent and all at a reasonable price. We tried the brisket and sticky toffee pudding and lemon posset, with wine, speciality beer and coffee and everything was spot on, including the price. Service was good too. My only suggestion is that staff keep lowered voices when checking customer arrangements. All discussions were fine but over hearing bookings and table arrangements detracted a little from the experience. Better if these arrangements were kept behind the scenes. I think it might have been something to do with the acoustics. Only a minor point as we would very happily go again and probably will.
