An excellent site.

The pitches are, for the most part, level and all are well maintained with nearby electric points. The toilet block is modern and well equipped with what look like new showers, private washbasins and two "open" washbasins. There are air hand dryers and what I took to be hair-dryers. In the toilets, paper is provided. There is a laundry and washing up area and all the other things one normally finds on a club site.

Although this site is not situated right on the banks of Derwentwater, it is within easy walking distance. It is a matter of about ten minutes walk from the town centre (and the route into town passes by a supermarket on the way, close enough to nip out for forgotten items.)

But most valuable of all was the welcome – the staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. I had arrived intending to stay for only two nights but, having failed to do all the things I wanted to do I asked if it might be possible to stay an extra night. The staff bent over backwards to make this possible, and this on the run in to a bank holiday weekend too, and even offered to make it possible to stay yet another night. Sadly, I had to leave for work or I would have taken them up on their offer.

All in all, an excellent site.

Well presented camp site. Excellent shower and toilet facilities.

Room for backerpackers next to laundry. Has a microwave. No cooking though. Open 24 hrs.

Only issue was there was no provision outside the Reception Office to power mobile devices.

Only 10 minutes walk from a supermarket and shops.

Although you don’t exactly get a warm welcome and you will hear many stories of the site being officiously run, the place runs like clock work, is spotless, is in a beautiful location and is quiet, even in school holidays. Having been to sites where rules aren’t enforced and everyone is packed in like sardines, I can say I prefer a bit of officiousness, clean, well ordered and quiet.

Keswick is a great base for lots of walks and other activities right on the doorstep.

We stayed over the Easter weekend, although the site was full it wasn’t over crowded. All new staff since our last visit but still a warm friendly welcome.

This site is right in the heart of Keswick so everything is only a short walk away. There is a modern amenities block with showers, toilets, pot wash, chemical toilet disposal etc (wish the club had fitted modern mixer taps tho, as they are much more efficient). As we are in the Lakes a dog shower would also have been nice touch, if not a necessity here.

My only gripe is that the club’s appointed planner could have made this an outstanding site with a little more thought about pitches. Instead they’ve squeezed as many pitches in as possible and as a result the width of most pitches is only just enough to fit a unit and awning on. You have to squeeze your car somewhere in front of them. A real shame as the location is first class, the site could have been a flagship for the industry with a little more consideration but instead falls a little short.

Beautiful scenery, lovely walks and the most dog friendly place I have ever been.
Very clean site and felt very secure here, pubs/shops less than 5 minute walk.
Took 3 dogs and we were welcomed everywhere.
