An excellent location for staying in Keswick. We were warmly greeted and allocated a clean and warm family room, white cotton sheets, duvet and fluffy towels - an excellent start. After a day's walking followed by rain showers the hot water and comfortable beds were much needed plus the choc biscuits - thank you !!!
Breakfast was hot and fullsome, plenty of tea/coffee, we were not rushed and all served on white crockery, it makes such a difference.
After leaving a favourite toy behind my daughter was delighted to receive it addressed to her in the post - Thank you for making a little girl very happy and her parents.

Our hosts Richard and Christine were lovely, very friendly and extremely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, and they had plenty of suggestions by way of child friendly walks and what hills to climb with two children age 6 and 4.

The family room with double bed and bunk-beds was large, spotlessly clean, light and airy and comfortably furnished, even a tray to put your muddy boots on after a day on the mountains!! Toiletries were provided in the bath room, just in case you forgot yours.

It has its own parking which is a huge bonus for Keswick. The breakfasts were delicious and just the right amount. Also Wireless access for those with Laptops. The location of Ferndene for walks and to the centre of town was excellent - less than 5 minutes to Keswick centre. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we can’t wait to come back in the near future.

Having stayed at Ferndene in January we decided to go back again for a few days in July and hope that our first visit would be just as good. We werent' disappointed.

The rooms have been decorated since we last stayed and have been improved where we didn't think there was room for improvement! Our room was clean and bright with a flat screen digital tv to relax in front of after a hard days walking. This time we stayed in the Annexe as opposed to the main house.

The breakfast, as usual, was superb and Christine and Richard were the wonderful hosts we remembered.

We'll definitely be back again.
