We booked 2 nights at the Babbling Brook in May 2013 and had such a lovely stay here. The b&b is very cosy, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Paul and Angela really know how to make you feel welcome and when we arrived we were offered a choice of two beautiful rooms.
We stayed in the en suite on the top floor, the bed was extremely comfortable and we had everything we needed. Paul took the time to give us plenty of useful advice about where to go and what to do and really pointed us in the right direction, especially regarding restaurants. You should also check out their new cafe in town if you get chance.
Also I'd highly recommend going to see a show at the Theatre by the Lake if you can- the summer season has some great shows and the cast is brilliant.
The breakfast was superb and exactly what you need to set you up for the day. We were asked on arrival what we would like and anything specific was noted and no bother at all.
We're going back to Keswick again in August and although this time we will be staying with a friend, my boyfriend's parents are coming too and they have booked to stay at the Babbling Brook on our recommendation! My favourite part of the stay, it has to be said, was meeting Roxie, Paul's gorgeous Hungarian Vizsla aka 'Velcro dog'- We totally fell in love with her and from reading other reviews I can see she seems to be a bit of a hit with everyone!
Thank you Paul, Angela and Roxie for a lovely stay!

This is a really nice family guesthouse in a quiet yet central location just 2 mins walk from the bars, restaurants and shops. It was easy to find and we had no problems parking. The accommodation was very clean and cosy with really friendly staff. Paul was more than happy to accommodate our very early morning breakfast before we went running in the hills! A great choice for a short stay in Keswick!

Stayed here with my son and found this guesthouse to be very tidy, well decorated and very clean . It looked very well looked after.
Very helpful, friendly proprietor, good breakfast. Excellent location.
Would recommend and will be going back.

Room Tip: twin room wasn't on suite.

Cosy establishment on the main road in but quiet at night. Opposite a babbling brook and park. Very clean and attention to details. Breakfast was excellent. The owner really likes people and he was very helpful and informative - from walking to eating. We benefited from his local knowledge with 2 nights of enjoyable dining experiences. Highly recommend.

Room Tip: Staircase is quite steep, if this a problem ask for a room on 1st floor.

When we got to Keswick my heart sank. The Babbling Brook was on a main road. That all changed after 7pm when it became almost empty. This is one really special place. The views from our room were amazing. We had the ensuite room at the top of the house. I can honestly say the break was far far better than I had planned. Very clean, homely, comfy bed and tea/coffee making in the room. Breakfast sets you up for the day whatever you do. The town centre is really only 5 minutes away and you can eat just about anything. Walkers or car users will find this place ideal. Easy to get to. And top of that Paul and Angela are really lovely people. Paul told us to save money, places to visit, when and where not to go etc etc etc. Angela is lovely but keeps in the background - if you don't see her ask to meet her. And also ask to meet their lovely cheeky dog - she really is a delight to meet. This was one place worth visiting - far better than any hotel in the area i reckon. And here's a tip - don't book on any website but rather book direct with them - you can save money for yourself and them. Thank you Paul and Angela. Lovely break and we will definitely be telling everyone - honestly it was really really good.

Room Tip: Get the ensuite if you want that bit more privacy. All the rooms are great though.
