We stayed as a party of four here whilst doing the coast to coast long distance walk (bus-ing to and from our route) for two nights last week. The owner was very helpful, welcoming and friendly and our room was lovely - clean, stylish, comfortable and well equipped. The breakfast is great to boot.

My wife and I have just returned from a 2 night stay at the babbling brook and will definitely be returning in the near future.our en suite room was very clean and offered a great view of the brook and park across the road.
Paul the owner couldn't be more helpful and cooks a great breakfast.
Less than a five minute walk to the town centre it is also ideally situated for all the shops, bars and restaurants.
As I said we will be back again soon!

This has got to be one of the best B&B's / hotels my partner and I have ever stayed at. I couldn't fault it.

It was clean, comfortable, warm. The breakfast was very nice and cooked exactly to order. The owner, Paul, is a really nice, and very hard working guy. We learned that he also works at (or owns) a restaurant in Keswick and often swims the nearby lake, Derwentwater- we were surprised he has the energy to fit everything in. He was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area and where to go, which walks to go on, where to eat / drink etc.

The guesthouse is about a 5 minute (if not less) walk from the centre of Keswick. The other way, there is a really nice walk to Threlkeld down a former railway route, through woodland and crossing a river several times.

Can't wait to return, but have a feeling this place is likely to become very popular, and, at short notice, this may not be the easiest of tasks!

I stayed over the Keswick Beer festival weekend. I was met by Paul who was welcoming and helpful. We quickly identified a shared interest in running and this is clearly the place to stay if you want to do the Bob Graham! The room was clean and well equipped, WiFi is good (although not lightning fast) and breakfast was great. I would thoroughly recommend it

Babbling Brook guesthouse was booked by our children for us as an anniversary present. It is located within easy walking distance of the Town Centre and on one of the main roads heading into Keswick. Parking is available outside the guesthouse and across the road from it.

On our arrival, we met Paul, the owner, and we were given a brief introduction to the facilities before having our bag taken to the room. The room for our 3 night stay was the Double with en suite situated on the second floor.

The bed was very comfortable, there was plenty of storage space in cupboards and stands and the TV was wall mounted and easily viewable. Tea and coffee facilities were in hand with biscuits as well.

The en suite was a bit tight with toilet at one end, sink middle-ish and shower cubicle at the other side. Shower was a power shower and very good with great water flow!

We asked Paul for recommendations for eating out and he was extremely helpful and offered numerous options.

Breakfast was full English as well as cereals, toast, juice and tea and coffee available. I would highly recommend the full English breakfast as it is cooked to how you like! The bacon and sausages are extremely tasty!!

Paul and Angela were very helpful and pleasant with helpful tips on where to visit and had exceptional local knowledge.

We would definitely stay here again when the opportunity arises.

Sam from Nottingham

Stayed at the Babbling Brook Guesthouse for 3 nights on the 23rd may. Paul the owner made us very welcome straight away we even got chance to choose our en suite room both rooms where immaculate the guest house itself is spotless in every area but we decided on the room on the top floor it had lovely character with beams in the ceiling and views of the fells. Paul gave us a map of keswick and even took time out to write down good places to eat and drink during our stay in keswick. We had 3 great nights sleep at the babbling brook and the breakfast was just what you need to set you up for a day out walking. During our stay we did Scafell pike and Paul was more than helpful with any questions we had about the walk or any walk for that matter. A lot of this is said about a lot of guest houses in keswick but no other guest house as Paul is a great host he really can't do enough for you and it never feels like it's too much trouble. Babbling brook guest house is a excellent place to stay only wish we could have stayed longer. Will definitely return.
