Certificate of Excellence

Having been before approximately 3 years ago, Lynwood had changed ownership since our last visit. However there is no need to worry, as the excellent standards of before have been maintained by Paul and Melissa. The rooms are very clean and comfortable , the breakfast excellent. Being a dog owner, it is nice to know there are dog friendly places to stay of this high standard.
Paul and Melissa are very friendly people who try to do their best to make your stay enjoyable.
The location is excellent, being only a short walk into the town centre and with many walks on the doorstep you can leave your car for the whole holiday if desired.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this as a place to stay in Keswick and hope to go again soon.

My second visit lived up to the excellent experience of the first last year. Paul and Melissa are exceptionally good hosts, nothing is too much trouble. Fussy eaters like me are spoiled for choice. The guest house is clean, comfortable, warm when the Lake District weather warrants it!!!, 5 mins from the town centre yet in a quiet spot. Highly reccommended once again.

Room Tip: The single room is a very good size, not the usual cupboard

We stayed at Lynwood at the end of March and were lucky enough to catch the good weather.
The guest house was ideally situated for everything that we wanted to do, the cinema, the lake, the town centre and all the pubs.
Melissa and Paul were excellent hosts giving good advice on where to eat and where to walk.  We had just bought a 4x4 and they even found out for us info on where we could go 'off road'.
Our room had fantastic views and was very clean. The breakfast was plentiful with fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurts, cooked breakfast and loads of toast and coffee.
We would have no hesitation in staying at Lynwood again or recommending it to others.

We have just returned from a two night weekend break at Lynwood which we could not have enjoyed more. Tea and cakes on arrival were a very welcome treat and we were made to feel very welcome by Paul and Melissa from the start.
Our bedroom was very comfortable with excellent facilities and the bathroom was well equipped with lovely fluffy towles and spotlessly clean.
Breakfasts were certainly a highlight with a great choice of fruit and cereals and wonderful local produce for cooked options. Ideal to set you up for a good day on the fells. Interesting decor for hillwalkers with lots of maps and mountain prints in reception.
We took our dog away (for the first time), and they were only too happy to help accomodate at the Lynwood.
We would certainly recommend Lynwood to our family and friends and are looking forward to returning ourselves!

My husband and I have just returned from a 4 night stay at Lynwood and having read the previous reviews we had great expectations, we certainly weren't disappointed. Arriving late in the evening after a 7 hour journey we were welcomed by Paul with a cafetiere of fresh coffee and biscuits! Paul and Melissa make a fab team and have really nailed the b&b business. Our room and en-suite were both very clean and spacious, and the matching furniture and fittings really add to the presentation. The daily maintenance and replenishment of the room was also very good. As hill-walkers we really appreciated the generous breakfast, and multiple options! The selection of fruit, cereals and cooked items was impressive, all of which were scrummy. Both Paul and Melissa were friendly and approachable with lots of top-tips for walking routes/parking and suggestions for evening meals in town. I honestly can’t think of anything more that Lynwood could offer as a b&b, we were made very welcome and well looked after, without hesitation we will stay here again when visiting the Lake District.

COuldn't have picked a better place to stay, perfect location between town centre and lake, the welcome was very nice, lovely room, the breakfast was amazing, huge selection of fresh fruit, yoghurt, pick and mix cooked menu, best cumberland sausages and very nice coffee! Even had a treat for our dog! Only minor complaint would be the mattress, too soft for me, but that's a personal preference. Will definitely stay there again. Highly recommended
