“A Gem of a place.”

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the guest house for two nights. From the moment you walk in you are made to feel very welcome, the entire house is spotlessly clean and tidy. Sharon is endlessly working to ensure that your stay is as relaxing as possible and is a wealth of knowledge with regards to places to eat or walks from the house, meaning that you don't have to worry about your car. Very well ran business with little extras like being able to book breakfast slots so as to avoid sitting waiting for a fantastic full cooked hangover cure! Lovely and quiet due to being a ten minute walk from the town centre. We will definitely be going back again. Thank you.

We recently stayed 3 nights and having stayed in many b&bs would put burnside in the top 10. We stayed in room 2 and found it to be spacious and spotlessly clean, the bed was very comfy and we slept very well.Sharon was fantastic really friendly and helpful nothing was to much trouble. Breakfast was superb with a good choice. We would not hesitate to recommend to anyone to stay at burnside. We will be returning in the future.

Burnside B&B was everything we hoped it would be and more. Sharon and Peter were so friendly, making sure we had ideas of places to visit or to eat. Our room was lovely and cosy, and the whole B&B was spotlessly clean through out. Nicely decorated & furnished we felt at home. After a lovely peaceful night's sleep our cooked breakfast each morning was delicious, highly recommended. Staying here made our holiday so enjoyable. We will be back for sure!

A wonderful B&B, beautifully decorated with a lovely homely feel. Sharon and Pete were very welcoming and always available to help with any questions or advice about the area. The breakfast menu is brilliant! We would recommend anyone stay here.

We had booked 3 nights in Room 2 based on the excellent reviews on this website and can honestly say that we had a fantastic stay.

Sharon made us feel very welcome, from the moment she phoned the night before we were due to arrive to let us know that should we wish to, she was happy for us to arrive early as our room had been vacated the previous day.

Upon arrival we found a parking space on the road opposite without any problem and were welcomed then shown to our room at the front of the property on the first floor. The room was of a great size, beautifully decorated and spotless throughout. We were made to feel right at home, especially with all the little extras such as the toiletries, tea & coffee making facilities, Wi-Fi and not forgetting teddy!

Sharon explained about the heating, breakfast arrangements and recommended various places to eat out and suggested some walks nearby that we may like to try.

Breakfast lived up to all the previous reviews, being of fantastic quality which certainly set us up for the day.

The 15 minute walk into the town centre along the disused railway line was lovely and we felt that it was an ideal location as there were numerous walks that incorporated this route.

All in all we had a great stay in an obviously well loved and cared for B&B - would highly recommend .

Many thanks, Lesley & Kev

We stayed in room 4 which was on the 2nd floor and had a lovely view. The room was a good size with nice furnishings. Everything we needed for a great stay. The room and en-suite was kept spotless every day, this went for the whole house too. Sharon looked after us very well both at breakfast and in general. The breakfasts were lovely, plenty of choice and quality. We were given some good advice and ideas of places to go, eat and things to do. Overall a great stay and certainly well worthy of all the other excellent reviews. Wayne & Jane.

We had an enjoyable stay at Burnside,on arrival we were shown our room, by Sharon, which was spotlessly clean.Sharon then advised us on the best eating places( which did not dissappoint),she also advised us on walks and loaned us a map for us to use.The breakfast was first class, being of good quality and quantity. We would certainly use Burnside ,if we were to visit the Lakes again. Many thanks Sharon for your hard work.CliveJac
