We booked Burnside to get away on a last minute break, we stayed in the flexible room for 2 nights and it was absolutely spotless. The entire house was perfect including the breakfast.
Sharon and Peter were great hosts, they're lovely people. Thanks so much for Having us, we will certainly be returning.

What a lovely B & B. Tastefully decorated, very welcoming hosts and fantastic breakfasts. The accommodation was spotless, like a show house. We will certainly be returning in the future. Thank you Sharon and Peter.

Room Tip: Room 4 with the king size bed and tasteful decor

We stayed in the bed and breakfast for two nights earlier this month and found it to be perfect for what we wanted. The location is great, and extremely easy to get to and from. The room we have (room 4) was huge and really comfortable. The facilities were good and the hospitality very welcoming. Our room was looking out to the front onto the road, however we didn’t hear much road traffic at all whilst we were there. It is a little bit out of the centre, however it’s an easy walk to get there and takes no more than 10 minutes.

Room Tip: Rooms 2 and 4 overlook the road, Rooms 1 and 3 overlook the rear. Both have nice views, however i su...

I must apologise to the owners for having not put my review up earlier. My fiancee and I fancied a few nights away in the 'Lakes' as we had never been before. I was looking for somewhere which was affordable and pleasant and I found it in abundance at Burnside B&B. Sharon and Peter are such lovely people and are so welcoming even if you rock up on their doorstep dripping wet, freezing cold and later than initially agreed (which is what we did!) I'd never stayed in a B&B before and didn't know what to expect however I was pleasantly surprised.

The room we stayed in was a standard double bedroom with en-suite. The room was nicely decorated and there was an en-suite which was really clean, there were fresh towels, hand wash (which smelt really nice!) and there were tea and coffee making facilities with lovely biscuits. The pillows were a bit on the thin side which would be my only concern. It is however not enough to put me off going back there. The room was at the back of the house so no traffic noise and at night you can hear the owls in the woods out the back, I heard a tawny owl most nights which was lovely.

Every day someone came into our room, cleaned it, made the bed, cleaned the bathroom, fresh towels, everything. There's a clothes rail and mat for you to put your damp clothes and boots on so they dry out next to the radiator overnight and I thought that was really considerate of them. A little touch which goes a long way!

The breakfast menu is great and I think I may have had one of the nicest cooked breakfasts ever. I'm not going to explain it bit by bit but I loved the fact that it was all grilled and not fried. Sharon definately makes the nicest scrambled eggs too.

Peter is really friendly as well and was happy to give advice on good walks, places to see wildlife and answer any general questions you fancy firing towards him.

The B&B doesn't have it's own parking but who cares when you can easily park on the road directly opposite the B&B and if that's an inconvenience to you then you are unconscionably lazy. It's a lovely 10 - 15 minute walk from the B&B down into Keswick so you're a bit away from the hustle and bustle of the town. It's only £3-4 for a taxi to the centre which, if you fancy having a few bottles of wine then it's a reasonable cost to incur I think.

Sharon and Peter are really kind, friendly people and they run a fantastic B&B. It's immaculately clean, tidy, well kept and I will be going back without question. A great little B&B which is very affordable and great value for money. Such excellent and welcoming hosts which is so important.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the house away from the road.

Another nod to Burnside after staying over New Year. Superb as always! Has become a home from home. Would not consider any other B&B. Good location for walkers, hearty breakfasts, clean and comfortable rooms. First rate hospitality.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were made to feel very welcome. The bedroom was lovely; very spacious and clean. The facilities were exactly as described on their website. The morning breakfast was excellent and served in a cosy room with a log burner, setting the scene for a winter's day in the Lakes.

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 4 and loved it. It was very spacious, with a queen size bed and a sofa.

This is the 3rd time we have stayed here and it is just as good as before. Sharon is the perfect host, the breakfasts are amazing and the rooms are spotless. We always stay in room 2 which has a settee rather than just a bed. We love the extra touches such as teddy being in a different spot each day.
