“wonderful guest house”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 May 2014

We hadn't booked in advance we just had an impromptu stay and happened upon Grassmoor. What a lovely guest house, our room was spacious with a very comfortable bed & lovely settee in our room. The decor was gorgeous & the added touches such as the individual jars of tea & coffee, milk in the fridge, homemade coconut ice & homemade jam all added to the enjoyment. We definitely recommend and will stay again.

We're delighted that you enjoyed your stay. We've spent a lot of time over the winter refurbishing the rooms and to get complements such as those makes us think we must be on the right track. There should be more homemade treats appearing as we go through the year as well!

Just returned from our first stay at this great B and B in Keswick and was delighted with the level of service received. Rebecca called earlier in the day to advise of traffic problems which was good.the fresh milk in the fridge in the room along with a daily treat was a nice touch. The home made bread and jam at breakfast were delicious. We had room 4 which has great views of Skiddaw, a large bed and a comfy sofa.
Very highly recommended .

Thank you so much for your review and your kind words. It always pleases us when our guests enjoy their stay and as we're still in our first year of doing this all feedback is appreciated. We're glad you enjoyed the little touches such as the homemade goodies as we always believe it's the small things that make the stay memorable! Thanks again and we hope to see you again in the near future. Rebecca & Richard.

Just returned from a short stay in Keswick and stayed at this fabulous little guest house. We received a lovely warm welcome from Rebecca who showed us to our room. It was newly decorated, very spacious and just really nice. There were home made biscuits on our tea tray each mornings which was a lovely touch. The breakfast was great with plenty of choice and home made bread and jam. There are so many guest houses to choose from in Keswick but this one certainly comes highly recommended.

Thank you for your kind words - we are really glad you enjoyed your stay. As this is our first full year at Grassmoor, we are trying hard to make everyone feel as welcome and comfortable as possible and to do something just a little bit different from the other guest houses, particularly with our home made goodies. When our efforts are appreciated it makes everything more worthwhile. We hope to see you again in the future! Richard & Rebecca

Grassmoor is ideally situated to explore Keswick and the surrounding area, it being a 2 minute walk from the town centre yet with plenty of on-street parking available.

The house and dining room are warm and welcoming and the room we stayed in was very spacious with a large bed, sofa, fridge and flat screen TV & with great views of the mountains, a real home from home!

Plenty of choice for breakfast using local ingredients - loved the homemade jam! We look forward to our next visit!

Decided to stay overnight and make a night of visiting the theatre and having a meal out. Booked very last minute but very pleased with accommodation. Friendly couple, great breakfast and comfortable bed. No complaints and would stay there again. Also great atmosphere in Keswick this Saturday night.

Room Tip: We had room on second floor with view over the rooftops to the hills.

My mum and I booked Grassmoor for the end of our first day cycling the Sea to Sea from Whitehaven. Everything that other reviewers have commented about is true - the rooms were excellent and very comfortable. My mother especially liked having a fridge with fresh milk in the room. However, the best part of the stay was how they handled a bout of food poisoning I suffered on the first day - I had had to cut short the cycle that day at Whinlatter and take a taxi to the house. On arrival I failed to ingratiate myself on their doorstop and both Richard and Rebecca were completely unfazed by this and did everything they could to assist in helping me that night. This included running to the pharmacy and providing me with water and toast while I recovered. Both mum and I cannot recommend this B&B more and wish them both the best of luck with their new venture.

We're certainly on a steep learning curve here, but we're glad you enjoyed your stay in the circumstances! It was extremely kind of you and your mum to get us a pot plant, the colour of the flowers fit in beautifully in our newly decorated lounge. Hope your coast to coast ride went well - we're shortly going to be going for the Quality Cumbria Cyclists Welcome award, so anyone with a bike, give us a ring!

We managed to secure B&B at this wonderful guest house due to a cancellation - lucky for us. The owners, Rebecca and Richard, are new to this game and are obviously putting their heart and soul into making it a success - and boy are they succeeding! Exceptionally clean and modern, it felt like a home from home. The choice of breakfast was outstanding - everything you could wish for, so much so that my boys and I chose something different each of the three mornings we were there. As my eldest son took his mountain bike with him the secure cycle store was imperative and proved invaluable - Rebecca was available whenever he wanted it. Good luck Rebecca and Richard - just keep doing what you are doing now. Sue, Daniel and Freddie.
