A few days in the Lakes makes a great escape for a UK break. Keswick is my favourite place for walking and some relaxation (nice pubs, food, excellent Oxfam bookshop!). We usually camp but it was late in the season and we thought we'd find a nice B&B for a change. there's a whole host of places to stay in the town - but look no further than The Lookout. Found here on tripAdvisor, everything people say is spot on. Dave and Liz have thought of everything and make you feel very welcome in their home whilst leaving you to get on with your holiday. Breakfast was fantastic, overlooking the lovely garden and the surrounding countryside. Will certainly return.

This is the first ever b&b I've stopped in, so don't have a lot to compare it to (apart from hotels etc.). However, it was absolutely brilliant!
We made a last minute decision to head to Keswick, one of our favourite places. We usually camp, but the overnight temperatures were still a little low.
Dave and Liz are the perfect hosts. One of my reservations about staying in a b&b was a fear of imposing in someone's home, or a host that's in your face or over the top. None of that here! What a genuine, lovely pair who obviously know what they're doing. Thank you for making us feel welcome.
The place itself is magic. Decorated and renovated in a modern style, but keeping its charm in character with its surroundings. The views from our room's balcony (3) are second to none. Looking out over their gorgeous garden to the fells in the distance was a highlight.
The room, bed and ensuite were spot on. Everything we needed for a relaxing night and a perfect nights sleep!
The breakfast was excellent too. Cooked to order and just how I like it. All seemed like quality ingredients. Thumbs up for the home made granola, very tasty!
So I've probably spoiled myself now. All future b&b's will be compared to this (if I bother stopping anywhere else!)

Our stay at The Lookout could not have been more comfortable. The room was tastefully decorated and a good size with a large comfortable bed, ample seating, a great bathroom and a delightful view. The breakfasts were freshly cooked to order and absolutely delicious. Our hosts Liz & Dave were friendly and welcoming throughout. The fresh milk in the room fridge was a real plus and a nice touch.

Myself and my wife stayed for 2 nights recently in room 3. The view was magnificent, the room was spacious, modern, immaculately clean and had a power shower which was ideal after a long wet walk!
Dave and Liz were the perfect hosts, providing a scrumptious and varied breakfast menu every morning. Their hospitality knows no ends, even to the extent of drying out our sodden walking boots without request!
We would highly recommend anyone to stay here without hesitation!

Another return visit and I can honestly say that The Lookout is as good, if not better than ever. The decor looks as good as when it first opened. Liz and Dave are the perfect hosts. You will not find a better cooked and tastier breakfast. Slept like a log all three nights in a luxurious room with fabulous views over the mountains and lake beyond....perfection!

Room - We stayed here for the weekend just gone for my 30th Birthday. We had Room 2, although this didn't have the beautiful views as the other rooms, we still couldn't fault it, beautiful décor, very clean and lovely comfy bed. Bathroom - very spacey, with large shower and again beautiful decor with large, soft towels and toiletries, which come in handy as i had forgotten my shampoo. Room also had a mini fridge, tea coffee facilities, fresh milk, which can also come in handy for cold drinks etc. We had a little balcony overlooking the entrance of the lookout. We did hear alot of traffic through the night with being on the roadside, that would be the only bad point.
Breakfast - was absolutely beautiful both mornings with a choice of Juice, cereals, cooked breakfast, fresh fruit and yogurts and added bonus of overlooking the snow on the hills which was just perfect when eating your breakfast.
10 - 15 Min walk into the centre of keswick and £3:00 approx for a taxi
Would definitely recommend the Lookout to any one wanting a perfect stay and would stay again. Thank you to Liz and Dave for a lovely stay.

Room Tip: Rooms 1 & 3 have the view of the hills and mountains
