We stayed for the weekend and right from the moment we walked in the place felt like home, warm, welcoming and finished to the highest standards and that was just the building, the staff were lovely and made you feel relaxed and at ease from the very start. The room (16) was absolutely amazing, on the top floor, large, open and warm with spectacular views over the lake and towards Cat Bells. The bathroom was huge and immaculately finished, with the added bonus of views towards Skiddaw. Everything in the room was warm, clean with no expense spared on towels, bedding, and decoration to name just a few items. Breakfast was exactly what was needed to kick start the day in the Lakes and the hotels close proximity to the town centre, lake and parks was absolutely perfect, there was also plenty parking for cars surrounding the hotel too. I cannot complain about anything no matter how hard I try, a lovely place and I am pleased that I have discovered it, a gem in the Lakes and I will be back.

Room Tip: From what I heard every room was finished to the same high standards and looking at reviews each roo...

Thank you so much for your review and for some fantastic feedback. We have said before and dont mind repeating ourselves, that we aim to offer the highest levels of service and accommodation and it is something we work hard at, so to receive feedback like yours is genuinely rewarding for all of our staff. Room 16 is becoming one of our most popular rooms with its bathroom and the views from the three large windows. We look forward to welcoming you back soon and thank you again for taking the time to leave a review, I know how busy you are.

We had room 2. It's large and immaculate. Fixtures and fittings of a very high standard. It's very clean. Views are great - two huge bay windows. The mattress is amongst the best we've slept on outside our own home - 1080 pocket sprung, hand made etc - firm yet beautifully comfortable. The ensuite shower room again was clean and very nicely fitted out - the shower is very very powerful if you turn it on full so it may be advisable to turn it on just slightly if it's too powerful. But I like power showers. A slight negative is the en suite shower room is on the small side and when opening the sliding doors to the shower and reaching round to turn the shower on, it's a bit of an awkward manoeuvre and I got soaked fully dressed but that's being über critical and it's not a real criticism but we both felt it was a small shower room but again beautifully fitted out.

The staff here are the real asset - so very friendly and chatty and natural - a real credit to the hotel.

The breakfast is excellent. Eggs Benedict is best I've had for a while - superbly cooked - runny poached eggs delicious and thick tasty bacon. The staff at breakfast were delightful and absolutely on the ball.

The location of this hotel is perfect too - just a two minute walk from the best part of the town - just simply walk out the door and under the miniature subway and there's a big choice of cafés, pubs, restaurants and shops. And if you want a walk - it takes about four minutes to reach the lake and the theatre by the lake and beyond to a lovely walk.

The only negative was the parking but it's not an absolute downer by any means. There is no private parking here. The hotel is situated at the end of a cul de sac and there is only room for a few cars outside and these spaces are shared with two neighbouring large properties and the approach road to the cul de sac was always full with cars. This means we were always on the look out for a space whilst leaving it in an awkward position or on double yellows. BUT...as the hotel welcome pack explains, parking permits are available for the nearby carparks - one of which is a three minute walk away - these are supplied free of charge. So really it's not a problem as you can unload and load and then leave the car on one of the carparks. I myself prefer a private carpark attached to the hotel - for convenience and security - but in this case it is not a deal breaker. I think people who drive more expensive prestige vehicles may want to consider this but in conclusion, this hotel is so good in every other way, the slight pain that the parking presents can be overlooked.

I highly recommend this place. It's a classy establishment.

Thank you for your review and feedback of your stay with us at LakeSide House. We always appreciate feedback as it helps us to maintain our high levels of accommodation and service. Room 2 is indeed a fantastic room and the guests that have stayed in there like yourselves have found the views to be breathtaking from the two large bay windows. We are genuinely delighted that you were happy with our levels of service, we are so fortunate to have such a good team here at LakeSide House who each take a huge pride in their roles. Our breakfast chef is an asset to us and the feedback we receive on his behalf is always shared with him. From a parking point of view we do indeed offer free parking for the car park at the back of LakeSide House and the spaces at the front are first come first serve. Parking in Keswick can be a bugbear and we hope that by offering the permits for the car park to the rear we overcome any issues. With regards to “convenience and security”, I believe the car park offers both, we have guests who arrive in “prestige” cars who return to us year on year happily using the main car park. We are so pleased to hear that you would highly recommend us and we very much look forward to welcoming you both back in the near future.

.Booked the suite room 12 for one night stay. The double room has 2 windows one overlooking Cat Bells, the other with views of Walla Crag and Causey Pike. Very clean accommodation, well stocked welcome tray with tea, coffee and hot chocolate plus bottle of water and complimentary suites. It was my birthday and the owners very kindly left me a box of chocolates as a gift. The ensuite bathroom was immaculate and very tastefully decorated with plenty of hot water and lovely thick quality towels. The bed was extremely comfortable and the wall mounted tv was easy to operate and watch from the bed. The breakfast was just perfect with excellent service from all of the staff and owner. The breakfast room is beautiful with big windows overlooking Hope Park. Location is superb with just a short stroll into Keswick centre but in a very quiet part of keswick. Cant wait to book up and return. Would stay for longer next time. Highly recommend this beautiful place.

Room Tip: Did not use room service as did not have any need but I am certain all staff would help with any req...

The building is in a modern boutique style and is very high quality. We were in the large room 2 on the first floor, great views over Hope park and the fells in the background. Great location being 3 minutes walk into Keswick. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast very nice and served hot !!

Room Tip: Room 2 is the largest but you may feel you are on view to pep opal passing by

Having stayed at the lakeside house hotel last year we decided to treat my parents to a weekend away as a thank you present. Despite telling them how fabulous the hotel was before we got there they said it "exceeded their expectations".

Rooms are very spacious and beautifully decorated. The whole house is very clean with lovely linens and towels. Amazing views from the bay windows. Delicious breakfast. Welcoming and friendly staff - (thank you for the chocolates!)

The only tiny thing I could comment on to improve would be a spare blanket to be put in the cupboard , however we were there on a very cold weekend so can't imagine this would often be needed as the rooms were lovely and warm during the day and evening.

Thank you for your review and for choosing to stay with us once again. Its always good to hear that we are providing the levels of service and accommodation as we intended from the outset and to hear it from a previous guest means that we are maintaining that standard so thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I have taken on board your comments regarding a spare blanket and there is usually one in the cupboard so I am sorry there wasn't one in your room this has now been rectified. We hope to see you all again soon and thank you again for leaving such a fab review.
