My wife and I stayed here for two nights and found Lakeside House to be extremely good.

The location is brilliant as you are only a few minutes walk into the heart of Keswick where there are lots of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, and also only a few minutes walk to Derwentwater for walking trails and cruises on the lake. There is street parking available beside Lakeside House, but it isn't always that easy to get a space.

Our bedroom and bathroom were both newly refurbished to a very high standard and were a credit to Peter, the friendly owner, who clearly had invested a lot of time and effort getting the design just so. We had plenty of room and more than enough storage space. It was also spotlessly clean, like the whole house.

Breakfast was a lovely selection from the serve yourself cold buffet, followed by a very nice full English breakfast that was cooked to perfection and was absolutely fresh. It was definitely one of the nicest breakfasts we have had.

We found all of the staff members that we spoke with the be lovely and genuinely happy that we had chosen to stay with them. Peter was always there and was very helpful in giving us recommendations on what to do in the area.

If we return to Keswick we would definitely stay in Lakeside House.

Having recently returned as a regaular visit to Keswick we decided to say at a new place this time and try something different. Fromthe moment we stepped into LAkeside it totally blew us away, the attention to detail, stylish and contemporary but welcoming feel was just wonderful. Staff were great, and the room overlooked catbells with a panoramic veiw over the park adn countryside. The breakfast was nice, altough loved the breakfast at its near neighbour Howe Keld with its homemade breads and smoothies etc. I loved the feel of Lakeside and its a credit to its new owners who have put alot of time and love into renovating a beautiful building.

The room we had was spacious, stylishly decorated with a comfortable bed and well appointed bathroom. The renovations to the house had been well done so even in the sub zero temperatures we were warm and cosy. There were some great touches like a bench to take your boots off in the hall and a drying room. There was a good choice at breakfast in the dining room that doubled as a cafe during the day. The location is great for walking into Keswick town centre, but also great for heading into the hills. The only downside, during busier times, would be the lack of a private car-parking, although this was not a problem in December!
A great place to stay in the Northern Lakes.

We spent two nights in room 2. Spectacular view and minutes from both lake and town centre. Cannot fault anything. We were so impressed with the friendly welcome, being shown personally to our room. The owner Peter was present at breakfast both days and gave valauble information on the immediate area. Big plus was the availability of gluten free bread at breakfast.
Keswick was a beautiful town and we enjoyed a meal at Sweeneys on the first night and The Four in Hand on the second night. Plenty of lovely shops and tea rooms to while away an afternoon.

We stayed for 2 nights in room 3. What a great view over Hope Park to the hills in an excellently furnished room. Peter and his staff were very friendly and helpful. He booked a celebratory meal for us at Morrels - good job he did, because on the Saturday they were fully booked all night.
The location is excellent - only minutes from the town centre via the underpass and a similar distance to the lake. We will definitely be making a return visit in the not too distant future.

Lovely, clean modern guest house. Friendly, warm and helpful staff. Our bedroom (we were upgraded on arrival to a premier room at no extra cost - room 4 ) was tastefully furnished and very clean. Comfortable superking size bed. Breakfast was ample, tasty and a good variety. Very short walk in Keswick centre but far enough out not to be disturbed by noise. Right next to the park and a short walk from Derwentwater. Great views! Highly recommend!!
