This was the second time our party had stayed at the Strathmore and once again we were made very welcome by Paul and Jodie. We took the place over, literally, but hopefully we weren`t too much trouble. One of our friend`s celebrated a "special" birthday just before we arrived so the de luxe room came in very useful for eating his birthday cake and sharing a glass or two!! We were lucky enough to occupy the de luxe room which was lovely. One of the perks of not being able to climb too many stairs!! The weather could have been kinder but we still had a great time and have already booked in for next year. Breakfasts very substantial and also Paul very kindly filled a number of flasks for us during our stay. It`s lovely to have parking spaces after struggling for years on Eskin Street to find spaces and because we took over the place it didn`t matter if we boxed each other in. Can`t imagine staying anywhere else now when we`re in Keswick.

Room Tip: Obviously Rooms 1 and 2 are on 1st floor, 2 being the de luxe one.

This was the second time Ruth and I have stayed at strathmore guest house and again , as I did last time had a wonderful stay. Paul and Jodie were amazingly welcoming and very helpful. The room was again lovely and the bed was perfect. Paul's breakfast was excellent and the whole ambiance was a one of relaxation. Just what you need for a night away.
Can't wait to stay again.

I have been visiting Keswick for 50 years - my family originates from here, so it's a pity I haven't found this place sooner. A charming town house right opposite St Johns church, it is excellently situated close to Keswick's centre. On-property parking is available for a few cars, but street parking is available. The guest house lies just on the edge of the town's restricted parking area.

The owner,s Paul and Jodi are very friendly - nothing is too much trouble - and an excellent breakfast is provided. The room I had on the top floor was very comfortable, with all the expected facilities and had a spacious bathroom attached. The views from here are lovely, the bathroom looks out over the mountains of Skiddaw and Blencathra, whilst the bedroom looks towards St John's Church.

Minus points - nothing really;
The church clock has a quarter-hourly chime - I find it charming, but light sleepers take note !
It's a fair walk from the car park at the back when you're carrying luggage, but owner Paul always offers to lend a hand.
I certainly hope to return next year.......

Room Tip: Room 7 has nice views, but lots of stairs need to be climbed.....

The first thing that struck me about this B&B was the very friendly welcome from Paul, who was helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the hearty breakfasts delicious. We were on a walking holiday and appreciated the drying room, as we were able to get our wet clothes and boots dried overnight. This B&B is just a 5-minute walk from the town centre, where there are plenty of places to eat in the evening. Keswick is a great base for a walking holiday with easy access to some fantastic routes.

You are greeted with a warm welcome !!! Close to Keswick centre parking free at the rear. We booked the delux room and were not disappointed large room bay window lovely bed and tastefully decorated with attention to detail. Spacious too and a cracking breakfast in another tastefully decorated dining room. Would recommend the stay Paul and his wife very friendly and helpful. Will be back hopefully sometime soon..

Room Tip: No bad comments ..If you are thinking about it don't just book it !

A perfect base for a walking holiday, a short walk from the centre of town. The owners could not have been more helpful; all their advice (where to eat dinner, where to walk etc) was spot on, and they went the extra mile to make my stay a success. I had the single room, which was spotlessly clean and well provided with tea, coffee etc. The room had a good view over the churchyard from the window seat. The shower room was compact but completely adequate. There was a wide choice for breakfast, with plenty of good quality healthy options as well as a fine Full English. I will return.

Excellent pampering from an enthusiastic and friendly young couple with a great eye for detail. Breakfast was a real treat, high quality produce beautifully cooked and presented. Whole place was spotless, good size room, comfy bed and bedding, lovely fluffy towels. Located one minute from the town centre. Will return asap.
