We have visited the lake District numerous times over our 42 years of marriage and this short break was one of the best we've had.
The Parkfields is perfectly situated, being opposite the beautiful Hope park, a short walk from the town, the lake and the theatre.
As we were visiting the theatre that night to see a play, the location was perfect and to add to that, we were given a voucher for £2 each off our tickets by Susan, as her and John are ambassadors for the theatre.
From the moment we arrived at Parkfields we felt "at home". After parking our car in the private car park, we were shown to our room and offered tea and coffee, with cookies served in the lounge. This was a nice touch and much appreciated , as were the bottles of water and tea and coffee making facilities (with biscuits), provided in our room.
Our room, on the back of the house, was small, but certainly adequate, being very clean and comfortable with a lovely quality bed and furnishings. We were very grateful to have got a room at all,as it was a last minute booking.
We have viewed " other rooms which were spacious and very luxurious, as they were on the front of the house, they had beautiful views of the mountains etc. Something special!
The breakfast, cooked to perfection by Susan, was the best breakfast we've had in a very long time. The quality and choice was unbeatable and the service by John was excellent.
Susan and John are lovely hosts who made us feel so welcome and treated us like friends. This was our first visit to Parkfirlds House, but it certainly won't be our last!

Room Tip: Ask to be on the front of the house.

Great weekend spent in Keswick with friends. We were welcomed by Sue and John with pots of tea and biscuits. Rooms were clean and comfortable and beautifully decorated throughout. Loved the breakfast, it was well cooked and served with plenty of choice for everyone. The B & B is well situated being close to the lake and for walking into the Keswick. Sue and John were excellent hosts, always friendly and helpful if we needed any advice regarding walks, restaurants etc. The weather wasn't brilliant on one of the days and they even helped to dry out all our wet coats, walking gear etc. Thanks to Sue and John for a great weekend, will certainly be recommending it and will look forward to another visit in the near future.

We stayed at Sue and Johns lovely Guest House for 2 nights over the weekend, which was recommended by a friend, and we were not disappointed. When we arrived we had a warm friendly welcome and a much needed cup of tea, and chill out, in the well appointed lounge (lovely decor) Our bedroom was very clean, and had a well stocked tea/coffee etc tray. The bed was very comfortable, which was a big plus for me. The breakfast was excellent, there was plenty of choice to choose from on the breakfast table. I had the fresh fruit salad (I mean fresh, not tinned, loved the strawberry's) and cereals, followed by full English (very nice) which set me up for a good days walking. The guest house is close to the town centre, only a few minutes walk, and good central point for walks in the area. Looking forward to visiting Keswick again, and of course will be staying with Sue and John. Thanks for a lovely stay. Frank.

Spent a superweek end in Keswick, which was topped off by staying at john and Sue's lovely guesthouse. Spotless clean, comfortable beds, upto date decor and excellent breakfast.
Welcomed with a cup of tea and a friendly chat which instantly made us feel welcome and relaxed.
One would have to be a very difficult person not to be happy with their stay there.
Can highly recommend Parkfields and I will look no further when I return to Kewick.

Room Tip: The front rooms overlook the Park and are quieter

Think all guest houses are the same, think again you haven't be to Parkfield Guest House,
What great hosts John & Sue are, nothing is to much trouble, don't know about go the extra mile its more like like go the extra 100 miles, if all B&B were run like this one, traveling around the country would be a breeze what a testament to how a B&B should be run, breakfast is beautifully cooked by Sue and served by John in his own inimitable way, if he could he would serve it from his Harley Davison. The rooms are all beautifully decorated to the highest standard and would put most 5* Hotels to shame. This guest house is perfectly placed for the Lake, Theatre by the Lake, and a wide verity of walks to make your start from, If you enjoy good food there is a wide verity of eateries within 200yards from India to Mexico via China, try the Cow Pie at the George you will never finish it.
Try this guest house it like being at home, you wont be disappointed we weren't, can't wait to come back home.

Room Tip: Whichever room you choose you won't be disappointed they are all excellent.

Just back from 5 nights here.
Very comfortable and spacious rooms.
Very well run by Susan and John who are very friendly and helpful, really felt more like part of the family than a paying guest: nice balance of business and friendliness.
Breakfast was absolutely perfectly cooked, you can tell when someone cares about quality.
Will certainly be returning to this excellent B+B.

We have just spent a week at this extremely first class guest house in the Lakes.
The bedroom was lovely and spacious ,clean and very homely, with superb tea and coffee making facilities too.
A very nice television is also located in the room for added pleasure.
The breakfast room and breakfast was top notch and all the food was of a very high standard and quality and all served in a very nice manor by the owner John.
The situation of the guest house was perfect for our week in Keswick with the added bonus of on site car parking ,which was taken care of by the owner John again, so very easy to turn up and not have to worry about your car.
I can recommend highly this guest house if you are visiting this area of the Lakes and we will definitely be stopping here in the not to distant future.
We wouldn't dream of looking any where else !

Room Tip: We have stopped in all the rooms now in the guest house and they are all first class in standard.
