We stayed for 2 nights in the Station House at this lovely old victorian hotel set in picture postcard surroundings, the room was large, comfortable, easy chairs, clean with nice bed linen and towels but bring back the bath robes we missed them though the chocolates are still a nice touch. Our booking was for d/bb, great food and service on each visit to the dinning room. Complements to all the staff who well deserve a pat on the back for helping make our stay in Cumbria such a success. Yes the hotel does have the hint of past grandeur and the interior decor is not perfect but that is so much part of its charm. Will be coming back sooner rather than later, thank you for taking such good care of us and WELL DONE Keswick Country House Hotel

My partner and I have just returned from staying at the Keswick Country House Hotel for almost a week in mid-July 2011. Initially, the faded Victorian grandeur of the hotel was a bit of a shock. The entrance hall is dark and gloomy, and there are many areas of decor which are let down by poor attention to detail. For example, minor repairs have been done but not synchronised with their surroundings. By today's standards, in my opinion, this is definitely a three star (but no more) hotel. That said, it has a lot going for it. The staff are very attentive. Our room was spacious, very clean, and had lovely views of the fells. There is ample car parking. The hotel is very well situated for ease of access into Keswick and for Latrigg/Skiddaw and the nearby cycle paths. Above all, the meals are superb. Well done to the chefs! We had half board and really enjoyed the superb dinners. The hotel has many returners, and this is not surprising as half board represents very good value. By the end of our stay we had begun to look past the faded decor and had concluded that the hotel is really rather good at the price. Congratulations to all the staff, many of whom come from overseas and are incredibly welcoming and cheerful.

Took family for weekend as we had booked the wedding ceremony at hotel. Staff were wonderful- food amazing-room decor very up to date colour schemes and fantastic home comforts. Would definitely recommend as nothing was too much trouble.

Room Tip: Most rooms have wonderful views .

We found this hotel very friendly and helpful.
It has an old but characterful atmosphere tucked away from the mainstream but minutes away from the town centre. The old railway station which once brought hotel guests right to the hotel has even been converted into extra accomodation. The old railway line now a linear path made a pleasant walk with a chance to link up with a valley walk alongside the river Greta
The meals were good and well presented.
Our room was quite adequate

Room Tip: Some rooms while at the back give better views
