We picked this hotel for one night after reading the positive reviews on tripadviser . I have to agree with everything written it is a great place to stay and the breakfast was amazing.Owner helped with where best to eat in the evening and how to get there . Helpful receptionist suggested a walk/boat trip around Derwentwater which was also amazing- thank you . Overall I would highly recommend this hotel.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for two nights and couldn't have been more pleased with the hotel. The building itself is lovely - a stately old place - and the location beautiful, with hills in the distance and the opportunity to sit outside with a coffee, (provided free of charge from the Nespresso machine in the hotel), and enjoy the view.

We were greeted as friends upon arrival and shown to our spotlessly clean room which was decorated tastefully and with style. We found the beds comfortable and the pillows too - no small consideration! The breakfast choice was excellent and really good quality and the service without fault.

The hotel is a short walk from Keswick itself and we found lots to do here, including a trip to the theatre by the lake, which was unexpected and a real treat.

All in all, we will be very happy to return for another stay as soon as possible!

First stop on our return to the Lakes to celebrate our 50th anniversary…good choice of lodging. The room was large and comfortable…bed just right. Views from the room and from the sunny breakfast room below in two directions revealed exactly why we love the Lakes so much. The garden was also very nice. Breakfast was typical but very good…lots of options with a couple of unusual offerings, which we did not try. Also good fruit, cereal, etc. Sally, the innkeeper, was very friendly and helpful with our many questions re: restaurants and directions. The location was excellent also…just outside of town (easy walk down, a little bit of a “puffer” up but easy to get in and out of town in the car as we went off for our daily walks and other adventures. The Grange was a great place to begin our vacation

I stayed here for just the one night but it was enough to appreciate that this is a lovely place. The views of the fells from the dining room are spectacular, the building is charming with many lovely period features, the bed was very comfortable and the owners and staff were very friendly. The views the building commands are there because it enjoys an elevated position, which means it is a pretty steep walk into Keswick which takes 10-15mins. The only slight disappointments were 1. the en-suite bathroom in the superior room (5) was very small, just enough room for a single shower cubicle and the toilet with the basin being located in the bedroom and 2. the cleanliness of the room, there were a few cobwebs on the coving and the lampshades and the bedside tables and lamps were a bit dusty. On balance though the Grange is a lovely place thqat I'd happily stay in again.

Remedial high level cleaning already carried out! Glad you enjoyed your stay and had a good rest from your own B and B business!

Future visitors: Mark and I would be really happy, if you could let us know any issues you have at the time of your visit and then perhaps we can change rooms for you if you like a large bathroom or we can address any issues with sneaky spiders!

We stayed for a romantic walking weekend and it was the perfect choice. The room had fantastic views, the service was excellent and the atmosphere warm and friendly. The breakfast was of very good quality and being able to have a drink on the terrace rounded the day off nicely. We will definitely return!

Room Tip: Room 5 has views from both windows - you can see Catbells from your bed!
