We stayed for a week in room 6.The bed was excellent very comfortable. The windows look out over a flat roof but the hills can be seen. The bathroom is large with a bath and shower over.Towels and toiletries are very good. The furniture is a little dated but perhaps this is in keeping with the building.I would have preferred a larger TV with sky sports but this is my personal taste. The breakfast is very good quality but if stopping fora week it is a shame croissants or bread cobs are not provided. The Grange is very quiet and is within walking distance of Keswick centre although it is up a steep incline to return. The staff are brilliant.

We were a "last minute" check in. Went to the Keswick information centre asking what was available. There was a convention in town so most B+B's were booked out. The very helpful lady found one spare room at the Grange which happened to be room 1 on the ground floor. Massive room full of charm and tastefully decorated. Went for a stroll into town after a welcome shower and enjoyed the delights Keswick has to offer. The walk back is uphill but we loved it. Very comfortable bed, very clean and lovely luxury touches. Breakfast was amazing, great food and lovely views over the hills and valleys. Only down side is the limited internet access (it doesn't reach all rooms), but a very small price to pay

Staff are very friendly, make you feel at home and the whole experience was delightful. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: We have only experienced room 1, but I'm sure all rooms are lovely

I would recommend this B&B without hesitation. It's set in lovely grounds with fantastic views. Staff are very welcoming & professional. We went with our 3 month old and were given an ideal room - set apart with plenty of space for our luggage. Breakfast was delicious with homemade preserves & cake alongside excellent cooked to order food. Dining room stylish & spacious as is the rest of the B&B

Almost everything about The Grange is absolute perfection, or better! This is a lovely property, as the many other reviews and photos attest. The staff is sweet, attentive, perfection. The rooms are charming, the rest of the house amazingly well done. The breakfast room is all windows and light and views to the mountains on two sides, and the breakfast menu is the most extensive I've ever experienced at a lodge/B&B; the cook knows his/her business, too, as The Grange easily serves the best, most flavorful, most well-sourced and expertly prepared breakfasts I've EVER experienced in a B&B, from the "Full Cumbrian" to the Eggs Benedict, Eggs Florentine, or just plain porridge, this place is the bomb! Easy walk to town or the lake, as others have said, however do note that the walk back from town is all uphill and .6 miles, so save some fuel and steam for the trip home, or take the # for Davis Taxis with you. I had sworn off B&B's after a few bad experiences, but this place restores my faith. Would absolutely love to stay here again.

Room Tip: No bad rooms here, although if stairs are a problem you'll want to avoid the top floor.

Lovely B&B, about 20 mins walk from Keswick town centre. Our room was very warm, as it was in the eaves, and could have done with a fan. But other than that, everything was perfect and would definitely stay there again.

The term 'B & B' is a brush that covers a broad area. Sometimes, it's a house with one or two bedrooms and a little old lady cooking breakfast. The Grange is at the other end of the spectrum. It looks like a manor house and has 6 or 7 bedrooms. It has a little lounge (where everything seems to be for sale), the breakfast room and a terrace.

Having said it's almost a cross between a hotel and a manor house, the staff couldn't be friendlier - we felt very welcomed. We were in room 5 (a superior) on the first floor with splendid views of the mountains and fields that make up the Lake District - it has windows on two sides so the view really is spectacular.

The room had a king size bed and en suite facilities - a shower/toilet room and oddly, the basin in the bedroom proper. The TV is dinky, but then, we weren't there to watch telly. The room was lovely and comfortable.

Breakfast was excellent. I had the full cooked breakfast on the Saturday morning (note to self, ask for no black pudding next time) and scrambled eggs with smoked salmon on a muffin on Sunday - I actually highly recommend the latter - the eggs were fluffy and perfectly cooked.

The Grange is within walking distance to Keswick - and indeed, we did walk to Keswick (and got soaked, but hey, that's the weather around there).

All and all, it's a bit pricey for a B and B, but more than worth it. Practically perfect.

How great is it to visit a B&B these days and not have a reason to complain. Well thats how I feel about the Grange, My wife and I stayed for 5 days in June, We really enjoyed the stay, we felt welcome, the bed was very comfortable, it was clean the staff where friendly and nice, the breakfasts were superb, crisp laundered table clothes, great coffee, and food cooked to own preference. Tasteful decor and the place had a nice feel to it. we will definitely visit again,
