Tina and Bernie are fantastic hosts, they have a wonderful home, we loved every minute of staying here, a fantastic breakfast on a morning sent us on our way. The rooms are exceptionally clean and our king size bed was wonderful. I would highly recommend The Cartwheel it is a super place we will be returning later on in the year, Bernie s coconut cake is to die for with a nice cup of tea. Thank you so much for making our stay very happy. xx

We have just returned from a 1 night stay at the Cartwheel guesthouse. I must say after staying in many B & B's around the lakes this is definitely the best in Keswick. We only booked a couple of hours before we wanted to arrive and this was accepted without any fuss. Tina and Bernie even waited in until we arrived before they could get out and about themselves. After a warm welcome we were shown to our lovely en-suite room on the 2nd floor. The room had the usual coffee making facilities and a flat screen digital tv with a really comfortable bed. The bed was already occupied with a little elephant and a donkey that Tina had made with the towels( a nice touch which shows the lengths the hosts go to for their guests). The breakfast was superb and again definitely the best we have had in the Lake District. On the day we stayed we got back from our walk to find a tray of cake in the dining room which is free to all the guests. It was absolutely superb and Bernie bakes them himself each day. Apparently there has been riots when he hasn't had time to make them so that's how good it was! Will be going back very soon and really can't wait.

We stayed at the cartwheel guest house for two nights, celebrating our silver wedding anniversary, and even before we got their, through emails to Tina and Bernie they had gone out of their way to sugest a lovely place for a meal out and even arranging a booking. On our arrival we were made very welcome. We stayed in room 1 with a four poster bed, very comfy, their was attention to detail, with our towels arranged into animals, chocolates and wine had been left as it was a special occation, rooms spotlessly clean, our every need met. The breakfasts were tastefull and filling with varied choices and also pack lunches available. The Town was a five minute walk away with nearby lake. Anything we wanted we only had to ask, Tina and Bernie were the perfect hosts. We would thoroughly recomend a stay at the cartwheel guest house and would deffinatly go back. You do feel that you are leaving friends behind when u say goodbye . Thankyou Tina and Bernie for making our anniversary so special.

This B&B is fantastic, clean, perfect location to explore the lakes and like everyone says, arrived as guests and left as friends. Tina & Bernie make you feel so welcome into their 'home' that we didn't want to leave. We stayed in room 1 with the en suite which was everything we wanted and the breakfast sets you up perfectly for your day ahead. When you come back after your day out make sure to try Bernies cakes that he bakes complimentary for the guests which go down well with a cup of tea in your room.

As previously mentioned by other guests, Keswick is a 2 minute walk to the centre and a 10 minute walk to the gardens, derwent water and the boat trips. We ventured out all week as the A591 takes you all the way through Grasmere, Ambleside, Bowness on Windermere, Windermere eventually to Kendal about 40 minutes away. (Beautiful road to drive on with great views across many lakes on the way)

We would definately recommend this B&B to anyone and we are hopefully going to return again in the very near future. Thanks Tina & Bernie for a wonderful stay.

Lovely Guest house, not even five minutes walk from Keswick town centre. My boyfriend and I arrived for a Two night stay and were greeted by Tina and Bernie who are really nice people and made us feel welcome.
Our room was lovely and the bed was really comfy!
Tina had made animal shapes from the towels which was such a lovely touch.
The breakfasts were delicious, locally sourced produce and an impressive choice of menu.
We even got their packed lunches to take walking and they were really nice and great value for money.
The cakes that Bernie made were amazing and you could have a free slice each afternoon to keep you going till tea.
We are in our early thirties and were looking for somewhere nice, central, clean and friendly, we found all this and more at the Cartwheel. I would recommend the Cartwheel to anyone and will tell all of my friends, the next time we go to the Lakes we will be staying at the Cartwheel.
