Went as part of a group on a stag do. They organised activities that went without a hitch. The breakfast and packed lunch were very good value (and the manager changed the time to accommodate our likely state!) It is just like many hostels but the staff were really accommodating and very helpful and this made all the difference. It was clean and tidy as much as any hostel. The room I slept in had a corrugated roof and was noisy but others said their room was fine. Good value

Room Tip: Don't sleep in Catbells. The roof is corrugated and loud when it rains

perfect!

We visited as a group if guys on a stag trip.
The venue is well located for an easy walk into town.
Our room was a little crowded but beds very comfortable. A pillow with a bit more life in it would've been nice. All in all though good for hostel accommodation. I was a little surprised to be told that I wasn't allowed to use my own sleeping bag if I wanted to and if I did and they got inspected , they could be closed down! I'm not a regular hostel user but can this really be true??

Bathrooms were clean and the water hot. Showers could do with a bit more pressure.

Food was ok although the cook looked like he could use some help as he was sweating heavily whilst serving. Hope none of it dripped in the beans!

The Ghyll scrambling was great and the guides made it fun and safe. Awesome hangover cure and a highlight of the trip. Many thanks!

Locks for the rooms would be nice and useful for travellers not able to lock valuables in a car.

Stayed as part of a large stag group for a weekend. We've endured some grim places before, but this was definitely not one of them. The rooms were a decent size, although needed some more wardrobe facilities. The beds were extremely comfy not just by hostel standards - but by hotel ones. A solid mattress and pillow meant I managed to get a good night's sleep.

The staff were welcoming, and particularly supportive when we went on the ghyll scrambling they organised for us. The bathrooms were clean, although the shower was a trifle underpowered. Breakfast was adequate without being anything more.

It was well situated for the centre of Keswick, being no more than a ten minute amble away, and there was plenty of space of parking.

My only major concern was the lack of acceptable security - ie, not being able to lock our room and having to pay £1 per time to use a locker.

Overall though we were very satisfied, and it offers fine value for money.

Of all the hostels I've tried in Keswick, Denton is by far the best I've stayed in. What made it such a good stay was that the staff (Mark in particular) were so helpful and kind to all of us making sure that all our needs were met.
Facilities are basic, nothing more or less than you need and the food provided was great.
Located very close to the centre of town which is useful.
Rooms were warm, comfortable and clean.
All in all a great deal.

Just returned from a couple of nights at Denton House. Was there on my own which felt a bit strange but the staff couldn't have been any more helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Amazingly comfortable bed and good food too!
