We spent 3 nights here in October and had a very pleasant stay. The street sounds did not bother us, only noise that could be troublesome is that the floors creaked quite a bit above us, however the guests above did not move around at times when we may have been resting/asleep, so it didn't become a problem. Breakfast was plentiful and served by smiling helpful staff. The pub is popular and serves pub fare at reasonable prices. Keswick is a lovely town and we enjoyed the various pubs with live music and there was plenty to choose from.

To be honest, I only booked a one night stay with DBB because of an offer from the Lake District Hotels website. Really glad I did!
After checking in we were treated to Winter Pimms and hot crumpets. Dinner was good and so was the breakfast. Service was excellent with all staff being friendly and efficient.
Some maintenance work was being carried out in some of the other rooms which could have been a problem but didn't bother us. One of the workmen was considerate enough to ask me what time I was getting up in the morning so that he wouldn't start work till then.
Will definately come again

Visited Keswick on 08/11/13 and stayed until 11/11/13. Didn't stay in The Kings Arms Hotel, but 6 of us ate there on the Sunday evening. I had the burger and the others had the steak pie. The burger came with onion rings within the bun and a hot and spicy sauce. The chips that came with the burger were crsip on the outside but nice and fluffy inside. I must say i'd give the burger a good 8/10. The 5 that had the steak pie said it was delicious and everyone cleared their plate. I'm not sure if the pie's were homemade, but the taste and the way they were presented certainly gave that impression.

All in all a very enjoyable meal all washed down with a nice cold pint of Kronenburg. If anyone was there on the night of 10/11/13 do they remember Sarah, the woman who was accompanied by 8 Teddy Bears. What a very interesting and sociable woman she was.

Called into the Kings Arms Hotel today 12/22/2103 for lunch today, I was attracted by the specials board which said Seared Pigs Liver with Winter vegetables, The meal duely arrived and looked stunning. That was the good part, I know liver can be served pink, but a portion of mine was so rare it was running with blood, I placed it in a side dish and when the Barman asked how my meal was I explained bout the nearly raw liver. He took it away and came back shortly after and said the chef apologised and that was it, no recompence, noo replacement nothing. Be wared if you eat here do not be misled by the specials board. This meal spoiled my whole day, needless to say I shall not visit this place again. In addition to this there was a constant stream of workmen coming and going through the dining area, not the best tourist attraction in Keswick.

Didn't know the area, but it looked quite busy and we were very hungry. Good price for the meals - best Cumberland sausage and Yorkshire I've had in a long time!!
Nice atmosphere, warm and cosy and didn't even mind the rugby being on :) would pop in again if we were around, many thanks :)

First time stay here as gave our usual hotel a swerve as the prices are getting silly. Small cosy & very friendly, didn't venture very far as found we got settled down in the bar very quickly & the drinks were flowing. Loved the roaring fire ! Met some lovely friendly people & had a fabulous time. Great atmosphere & our little dog stole the show. Breakfast was delicious too .... Will definatley come back! Don't let the mention of the noise put you off as this place is a little gem :)

As visitors to Keswick at least one a year we always come here for a meal and have always enjoyed it very much. We visited on Monday 4th November and this will probably be the last time! We arrived at 5 pm and were seated. There were no other diners in the restaurant. We ordered our meals and then had to wait for 40 minutes for them to be delivered. There were only a cole of other tables in use so we didn't expect to have to wait. One of the meals was wrong as we had asked for potatoes and it came with chips. The waitress noticed and it was replaced immediately. The chips on the other meals were overcooked and stuck together in clusters. I had chicken and ham pie and the quality of the ham was very poor and the pie had little filing. The vegetables were also poor quality and the selection was not good. It is a real pity as we were regular visitors and will be very reluctant to go back again.
