We did the circular walk but the wrong way round as ended up climbing down the rock face would have much more enjoyed climbing the rocky part however we had the most amazing views of Derwent Water all the way so we are not complaining just means we'll do it again the other way next time! Spectacular!

Took our 6 year old on it for the first time. Some steep bits and a bit of scrambling involved. Took about 2 hours up and down. I was scared but my daughter was like a mountain goat!!

Out on the "Walkers Special" Launch at 9.50. 10 minutes to Hawse End, and then up the path. Lovely views on the way up. Mist at the top, which is the way of things in the hills. Great views on the way down, and a woodland walk back to the boat jetty for 2.40. Lovely day out.

If you are staying near Derwentwater it is compulsory to walk up Catbells and you won't be disappointed when you get to the top as the views in all directions are great!

A mildly difficult walk/climb (at least for my level of fitness and with two kids in tow), but well worth the view.

The scenery gets increasingly dramatic as you ascend, but there are parts that are steep and craggy - if you are with kids - do be careful.

There are ample spaces to park nearby.
