A bit of a belated review as we had the pleasure to stay at Seven Oaks in early December. We were lucky enough to be offered an upgraded room which was lovely. Pam & Arthur were charming and welcoming, offering the vital advice about where to eat and drink! Breakfast as others have said was first class, we would recommend the Smoothies... Parking was easy and safe amazingly it was only a few minutes walk to the town centre. The real joy of staying at a "personal" place like this is the genuine advice and recommendation offered for walks etc.A big thank you.... highly recommended!

Just had our annual Christmas stay at Seven Oaks. Once again, excellent facilities and service from Pam & Arthur. Breakfasts are wonderful with a wide range of choice. As good as you would get at any 4* hotel. Already booked our next visit.

We picked Seven Oaks because of the excellent reviews on Trip Advisor and were not disappointed. Pam and Arthur are warm and generous hosts and their advice regarding walks and activities were spot on for our family. The choice for breakfast was extensive and beautifully prepared. We would love to return for a longer stay.

We'd highly recommend the Seven Oaks B&B - Pam and Arthur were very welcoming hosts, with great knowledge of walking in the local area. The breakfasts were hearty and very tasty, as were the good value packed lunches (best on a long walk!). Our room wasn't huge but was tastefully decorated, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in the Lakes.

Excellent value for money, lovely location just outside the town centre, lovely room and wonderful breakfast. Would heartily recommend this for anyone wanting a nice relaxing break in the lakes. Hosts were extremely helpful & hospitable - you couldn't ask for more.

We stayed at Seven Oaks Guesthouse for a 2 night weekend trip to Keswick. We chose this B&B after reading the reviews, and seeing the very reasonable prices.

Pam and Arthur were very friendly hosts. They looked after us very well throughout the weekend, and made us feel very welcome.

Our room was comfortable and cosy, and very clean. Pam and Arthur provided nice little touches such as biscuits, chocolates, bottles of water in the room, and fresh milk was always available in a fridge downstairs for tea making, Tea and coffee making facilities were available in the rooms.

Pam and Arthur provided a good choice of delicious breakfasts. We each had a full cumberland breakfast each morning, which was delicious. Pam also make fresh smoothies, which I would highly recommend! There was also a buffet including fresh and dried fruits, nuts, yoghurt, and cereals available to accompany cooked breakfast, which we enjoyed.

Pam and Arthur offered advice about things to do locally, restuarants etc, and were very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. We will definately be making an effort to return to Keswick for another weekend again soon, and will not consider staying anywhere but Seven Oaks!!

Highly recommended!!

It's worth starting a review with a thought about 'tripadvisor inflation'... naturally, I'd never rate anything above 'Very Good' unless a B&B provided trained, singing, flying monkeys to carry your bags, clean your shoes and attend to your every whim, for free....

But as B&B's go, Seven Oaks is one of the best that I've stayed in. If you're going to the lakes to walk or just enjoy the scenery, on your own or with a family, Pam & Arthur are so friendly, and ever attentive to provide for your needs, advise on potential activities or destinations or generally brighten up the day (but not in a Basil Faulty sort of way...)

The Room was larger than we expected, plenty of space to unpack, and finished and cleaned immaculately. Tea/Coffee tray provided with a full size kettle, decent mugs and PROPER biscuits (Twix/Kit Kat, etc... no 'Basics Shortbread' here!), and a decent selection of hot drink options (ask if there's anything you're missing!). En-Suite was clean and functional, though being on the top floor, the shower temperature and flow were somewhat temperamental, and the door was a bit sticky, but nothing worth complaining about...

TV/DVD was provided, though mounted on the wall, which was a little bit odd to view, and the bed was comfortable, if a little on the firm side for my tastes. Parking is free outside, though sometimes you have to go round the corner to get a space. Location is ideal, just far enough from the town centre to avoid chucking out time at the pubs, but within 3-4 minutes stroll to a great variety of eaterys and shops, and 5-6 minutes across to Derwentwater.

The big selling point for Seven Oaks is the service. Breakfast can be chosen from a myriad of options including Full (or half, if you prefer) English, Pancakes (french style), Porridge, Smoothies, and a great variety of 'Eggs how you like them + something else'. All tasty, all warm, all perfect for getting you up and out.

Pam & Arthur seem to have thought of everything, lots of books, guides, and personal recommendations tailored to whatever you fancy doing, somewhere to put your muddy shoes to dry, and walking poles/umbrellas to borrow if you need them. Packed Lunches or Sandwiches are available at very reasonable rates, and the lunches include some tasty home baking, which makes it well worth investing in!

So, if you're going to Keswick or the surrounding area, you won't be disappointed with Seven Oaks as a great base to start from.

Room Tip: We had Room 6 (Bonnington), the view is nothing major to shout about (you can just about see a big h...
